Tell me how your new hair looked when it came back. Was it the same or different? Mine was a dark rich brown almost black in color and straight as a board. Now its a very weird color like a gray crayola crayon with white hair all through it, of course, it is also only a 1/2 or maybe a little longer at this point and so far still straight looking. Is it gonna stay this color or change again?

NO!  That will go away.  As soon as your hair gets a bit longer, go in and get those gray "pencil lead" wispies cut off.  I thought mine was coming in straight and gray, also.  Now, it's curly and brown.

My son liked to pet my head when I had that wispy stuff.  Said I felt like a puppy. :)

    Take care,

I didn't let mine stay it's new multi-color long enough to see if it would change on its own, but got color and highlights at the 6-month mark. Prior to chemo, it was dark brown with auburn highlights (like my pic under 'Marin's Article'), but it grew in looking like the markings of a calico cat, with a shock of pinkish stuff at one temple Surprised! Yes, totally weird! Otherwise, it was kind of a washed-out, dirty blonde. Not attractive. Lots of cowlicks all over, with more on one side than the other. Truly bizarre. Everything calmed down by the year mark and now it's back to normal, but I keep coloring and highlighting it because I love being a blonde!

Mine started growing back around the beginning of July and it's now about 1.5 inches long and much darker than it was originally but with plenty of gray mixed in up top and lesser amounts on the sides and back.  I'm afraid it was there before chemo although it's hard to tell because I've colored my hair all my life.  Innocent  I did use Loving Care a couple of weeks ago to cover the gray part and it did a fine job.

I never did have the whispies.  It just came back pretty strong.  More wavy than before. Of course, I had thick, wavy, strong, medium to coarse textured hair to begin with.  I guess it is a tiny bit softer now, but hardly baby-textured.

I'm going for my first cut/style in two weeks.  I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it........Cool

I was pretty excited to see my 'natural' color since I hadn't seen it since 8th grade. I'd colored and had my hair hightlighted very blonde. Yikes! It was so dark and blah and still straight. I was at least hoping for some curl. I colored it at about 1 inch. ahhh, much better.

It's so much thinner than it used to be but I blame that on lack of hormones. And where are my eye brows????

Mine is back curly much darker and really thick.  I am almost 8 months out of chemo....but I too am wondering about my eyebrows.  They are still very sparse.  I still have to draw them in.  Any  comments??

Mine came back kinda' gray/white/black, I was really looking forward to chemo curls but it came in straighter than straight with the exception of one super kinky tiny swatch in the middle of my forward. Really weird. It had and still has no body at all and is baby fine.

Mine is about the same colour and came in thick and soft, felt like a cat.  Later it became an afro on top and very cowlicky on the sides and back.  Anything I try to do makes it worse, so I decided I would like it - hey it beats being bald.

Mine came in dark (after years of blonde coloring) and straight. It did come back thicker and has less wave then it did before!

Mine came in black and white - mostly white. But really soft. A few months later, once I had some length I had some coloring put it (it's the stuff that wears out after a few months). I (duh) noticed a few weeks ago that, now that my hair is more than twice as long as it was when I had it colored it's mostly brown again. So, while I clearly wasn't paying attention, my hair was growing back pretty much exactly the same as it was prior to chemo. Maybe a touch thicker which is a real treat.

    Phoenix,

My hair was straight when it first came in and a very strange color - not my usual very dark brown hair - I colored it with a semi permanent color, which washed out in 28 shampoos. This helped bring a little life to the color. When my hair reached about 1.5 - 2 inches it started to curl and now, 9 months out of chemo, I have 3.5 - 4 inch curly hair (I had wavy hair before not this curly). It is almost black in color, so I am back to my old color. Not much I can do with it, but wear it in clips and try to gel it down, but it's hair and I am not complaining. :)

My hair came back gray/white/mousy brown. It was wavy before but now it is out of control curls. Of course everyone who has straight hair loves it - me on the other hand - I am having issues! It is a year out from chemo and i have about 5 inches of crazy curls and if the weather is right an afro! Surprised. I have been coloring it since 4 months out but now i am starting to regret it. Maybe if i left it and it was all grey i would have gotten used to it and not have to dye it every 6-8 weeks! But my husband didn't like the grey - said it made me look to old>

My hair was dark brown and wavy before BC and now at 11 months out it is dark brown and curly.  I have colored it twice, with permanent color, to get it to look more vibrant and lighten it a bit.     I have about 5 inches and all I do is gel it.  Sometimes I blow out the bangs but they usually look horrible, plus normally I don't wear bangs.

My eyebrows came in fine and have been okay but my lashes have really thinned 2 or 3 times.  I do not mind as long as the hair on my head stays!!

Mine came in exactly the same as before bc-brown without gray.  Of course I got highlights as soon as I could so that at least it looked intentional.  A year ago mine was so short and just yesterday morning when I went for my run I put it in a ponytail!!  Yes, it was a small, on the top of my head ponytail but definitely a ponytail.  Sort of looked like a bun.  I just love having hair!  It really does grow back pretty quickly.

My natural color was dark brown & it was straight as a board. I'm a year out and it grew back salt & pepper and unbelievablely curly.  I just went to the hairdressers today and she cut a lot of the curl out. Not sure what it going to do now.  I kinda like it this way - no fuss, no muss.
