Weakness in legs, knees

Evening everyone, I'm about a year out from treatment and have recently started a walking program - I'm walking about 3 miles a day.  I've noticed some improvement in my endurance.  However, I've also noticed that my legs are extremely weak.  It's hard for me to do any exercises that involve squats, hard to get out of the floor, etc.

Never been a problem before, is this some kind of AI thing or am I just getting old??

Perhaps you might include some streaching and strength training in your program.  Three miles to start is pretty big to start.  Maybe that's why you have noticed the weakness.

Baby steps with the strength training is the way to go: ck with a trainer and get the streaching first and then go for the strength.  I used cans of soup in a tube sock hanging on my ankles and lifted the sock while I sat on a table.  This was to work on my quads.  Started with sets of 10 x 4 and increased number of cans after each week.  I'm sure you can find a much more informed person to get better info from.
