Pathetic! LOL Well yes but......that covers soooo much territory and so many things they do. I was thinking of a more specific term.

Hey..at least cradle-robber is a non-sexist derogatory term. It could be used to unfairly judge both genders equally. That's a start! Laughing

Doesn't really cover all of them, but we nurses had a name for the men who tried to put hands on us: L.O.G. s

    lecherous old goats  !!

    Hmmmm.. wonder if I should

set my sights on being a cougar LOL

I can tell you one thing

no offence .. to older men

but my some of them can be cranky!

I dont have time for mood swings

Once I get moved, maybe we shall see

Not many take me for my age

    so younger could be FUN..

Well, it surely must be spring because in spring a woman's fancy turns to thoughts of l..........ust!

A point to consider for us more mature babes:  Men our own ages and older tend to expect that you will take care of them.  Cook, clean, etc.  Younger guys tend to know it's just the $ex.  Wink

Yeah, and here's another thing...I started dating old guys because I thought that they'd be less judgmental about my looks and actually rather grateful to have a young-looking babe interested in them. Wrong! My experience is that most of them, despite paunches and hair in inappropriate places and none in appropriate ones, think that they're God's freakin' gift to creation.

I am one step closer to returning to that nursery, that candy shop chock full of hard rock candy!

Boo-Yah! Kiss Power to the Cougars!!! Wink

So Marin... I am living w/ an older guy... he is 55, I am 41!  So... you are telling me that I am living w/ a "pathetic" guy?!  Or there must be a age rule to be really called pathetic, like his 55, she is 21?! (LOL)

...Just pulling your leg... hope you are doing fine and more power to you and your cougarism!

Yes, m'am, you are living with a pathetic guy....um, NOT! I guess it's only pathetic when they're creepy, ya know...drooling and making lecherous eyes and pawing women as young as their own daughters. But older women who do the same to young men are just as pathetic, I think. In my opinion, if there's mutual respect, it shouldn't matter who's older than whom...and it's especially not anyone else's right to judge.

I think that the best part of "cougarism" becoming more prevalent is that everyone gets to pursue her/his own happiness without judgement....though I secretly think that the word "cougar" IS a little derogatory since it implies stalking, etc. On the other hand, it also implies powerful...and sleek! Now what could be bad about that?!

And Lilia...should you ever get the urge, I do encourage you to check out a few 25 year olds...just to see if you've got a little cougar in you too! Wink Laughing

Hi Marin... I have the "cougar" in me alright... I don't make it a secret... LOL... but IT'S SILENT! I am suffering of "pathetic guy syndrome" and really don't foresee me going anywhere!

I have fun now picking cute guys for Jade... LOL... that she can only date when she turns 50! LOL

And the word "cougar" just see the positive side of it... SNEAKY... yummy yummy to my tummy... at least that's how I see it... LOL

I am a feminist from the 60's and i hated the word "chick" (barnyard animal) in those days.  Now i am a "cougar", so they say--my dh (2nd hubby) is 16 yrs younger, but i want you all to know that i DID NOT stalk my prey.  I walked slowly, surely, and successfully thru the forest of younger men, sampling here and there, till i found the one i wanted and who met my requirements.  This August will be our 18th wedding anniversary.

    celia

ps. first hubby was 6 months older and we were married 21 years and are still very good friends .

Marin: how long do you know me?!  You know that most days my mind is in the gutter... so I used to have my little animated boy "wee-weeing" the butterfly, but that one is gone, can't find it, until I came across this one (Big LOL)....

As for your question... the devil is helping the penguin...catching something from the floor!!!!!!!!!  But what?!?!  LOL

Celia: Absolutely love the description of how you found your hubby..."I walked slowly, surely, and successfully thru the forest of younger men, sampling here and there, till i found the one i wanted and who met my requirements."  CLASSY.

I could just have a glass of red wine and keep on reading your cougarism!  More power to you Girlfriend.

My hubby is 7 yrs younger not enough for me to be considered a cougar but the goofy part of our marriage is his mom is 13 yrs older than I.  It certainly has created a bit of jocularity when discussing this with our friends.  I also think my hubby as 1st child was born old.  I consider myself acting my stated age for the most part.  He remains the love of my life and my soul mate.

    Robin,

Wishing you success in the starting over.  That is what happened to me.  I was dating again for the first time in 22 years.  I enjoyed it so much the second time around that i didn't commit for 10 years and was not without boyfriends the whole time.  I was very shy when i met my first hubby, but i was not shy the second time around and i had so much fun.  It is all in your attitude.  I had my set of requirements and men who did not meet them were dismissed.  I did get my share of getting a little bit hurt now and then but my logic would allow me to see that they did not meet my requirements and that was liberating for me.  Each guy i dated i would say to myself what is the lesson to be learned in this one??  I really did have fun.

Good luck to you.  You will create a whole new life for yourself and will love it i bet!!!  Remember, YOU are in charge!!!!

    Love this thread

giving me a break from packing

    and taking it all in

Celia: Maybe when I get settled

Just call me .. Cougar Gal.. :)))

not time now, but 90% of the time

when someone approaches me at a

coffee shope or wherever, they are

definitely younger, course they dont know my

    age.. who cares anyway???

hmm.. Another project for me to start

I am fairly active in walking

etc. and outdoors, and some my age

just wont make an effort to keep up

They have arty, well I do as well

but enjoy being active, not sitting

    on the old DUFF.
Come to think of it, when I was on
TX.. I remember my mate attending
once, and someone asked if I was his
daughter (there was only a 5 yr age difference)
    LOL note I say: WAS

    Cheers to all

and Best on your searches in this arena :)

Guess it depends very much on
    the individual

Robin, I'm just on the moving beyond board for a while, needed a break and this is the best place to take one for me.

Too much drama at home to add a lot more from the newly dx'd.

Whoaaaaaw.... what a thread! for the life of me I didn't expect to find it in this place! I love it to pieces!

I think I have the cougar gene in me :-) but it didn't mature yet fully. My bf is just 6 years younger than me, and I think he's getting a little too old for me - ha!

Way to go, girls, best of luck to all!
