Colleen...Are you on an AI? I had severe shoulder and neck pain for the first 15 months on Aromasin. Just a  thought....

Alot of women had trouble with tamoxifen....maybe you should post over on the 'Hormone Therapy' board though these forums aren't as active these days as we get through the format changes. It also occurs to me that you may have developed a great deal of weakness and stiffness in the muscles supporting your shoulders, upper back and chest. Many women experience difficulty with ROM following breast and lymph node surgery and are timid about exercising and stretching these areas. This leads to muscle atrophy, stiffness....and pain. If you have access to a physical therapist, I'd suggest you consult her/him....or start to get back to doing some of the post-surgery exercises you were taught. I'm not a physical therapist, but I am a personal trainer and, so, know  about some of these issues.

Have you had a chest xray recently? I ask only because I, too, have lots of pain in that area. But my pain is attributed to my lung mets. The largest tumors are right near my shoulder blades. They must be pressing up against nerves or something and causing pain. I'm not trying to scare you, but I probably am...so calm down...I just want you to be proactive and take charge and knock mets off your list of worries. Get an xray of your chest to rule out lung mets. That'd be my first suggestion. Pain in that area was the first indication to me that there was something wrong. An xray revealed lung mets. That was over three years ago. I'm still here!

Of course it could very well be residual pain from chemo. That nasty stuff stays with us for years and years...I do hope it's nothing and I'll pray that's just what it is. A big fat zero. Take care. Let us know what happens...Mena...xo
