In the midst of chemo tx, bald me and my DD walk into the hair salon so she can get a haircut. The lady at the desk looks up and says, "Who's getting their hair cut today?"

I go into my DD's k'garten class last week, and i'm chatting with some of the kids at snack time. i tell them i used to have long hair like their teacher. they look at me disbelievingly. i lift up my ball cap and say, "But my hair's growing back. See?"

One kid looks at my skull consideringly and then says, "You look better with the hat."

I went into my nephew's 1st grade class last year wearing pink, make-up and a white baseball cap.  A little girl came up to me and told me that I looked just like a girl.  I said thanks and told her I was a girl and she informed me I was a boy.  I Said no, I had been sick and took medicine that made my hair come out.  She Just said no and went and whispered something to a little friend of hers.  I think she was telling her that that man looked just like a girl.  Kids. . . .

About 2 wks after dx and before tx I told a customer that I had bc. And gave me his condolences then said "but you never smoked, did you?" I thought it was quite funny. I guess the proximity of the breast to  the lungs was close enough for him! lol
