I just received an email about this retreat being held at the end of September for those in treatment or within 18 months out. There's only room for 6-8, so hurry if you're interested....it looks fabulous!

Yeah, apparently one of this retreat center's primary missions is to offer programs for cancer survivors and the owner is a 4-year survivor of BC. It looks like a beautiful place....and the retreats are free!

Marin - thanks for the link. I'm already committed to a conference at the end of September but the retreat in March looks interesting.

I'd love to go.....I'm a native from Asheville!

Hi! Thanks for the link about the retreat - it sounds absolutely wonderful! I am beginning chemo next month so I can't attend this year, but hopefully they will offer it next September. If any of you attend, I'd love to hear about your experience. I live in Canton, NC, which is probably close to the retreat - not sure what NC city or town it is in-- does anyone know?

    Thanks and best wishes!

I live north of Hickory NC and I asked in my email to them where the retreat is located. she answered 'We are 5 minutes from where Hwy 74 and Hwy 9 intersect. (25 minutes West of Forest City and 15 miles East of Columbus, NC)'. It is not far from me, but my DH is a long haul trucker and he is only home Saturdays and Sundays. I really don't want to lose any time away from him.

Marin, Thank you so much for the info on the retreat. I too contacted them. My parents lived in Asheville for many years I lost my heart to that part of the country a long time ago. I really hope it works out, are you planning to attend?

Cindy...I can't make it this year but would love to attend a future retreat. My most cherished dream is to one day open a wellness center for women with life-threatening illnesses somewhere in the mountains, so this would be a great place for that kind of inspiration too!

Marin, I spoke to the women who runs the retreat her name is Shannon sounded really nice on the phone. I am really excited about attending I think it is exactly what I need at this time (year out from surgery). I spent most of the morning making arrangements looks like a go! Sorry you can't make it I thought it would be neat to meet you.

I spoke with her, too. She is great, and her hubby sounds equally as wonderful. Deb
