I'm right there with with you Ruth, Monday night is the monthly local bc support group meeting, we are usually done by 8 but this month we are doing art therapy, painting ceramics, and that usually runs later than 8. In 2011 we painted luncheon sized plates, I think this time we are doing soup bowls. I am taking my plate with me and painting my bowl to coordinate with it. I guess I will just have to watch online later.

I finished treatments on January 31 and I was just looking at different threads and found you guys. I love DWTS and can't wait for Monday! Can't wait to compare notes. Thanks for starting this.
-
We had a blizzard here today, so I'm using it as an excuse to skip my meeting.......
-
Ha, ha, good for you, Ruth! I hope it's a good season. I think the last one is gonna be hard to top, especially with the 'feel good' ending of Melissa & Tony taking the mirror ball trophy.
-
Looking forward to tonights DWTS!
-
Watching them come down the stairs as I type. (Now I will keep my mouth shut until you'all in different time zones have watched!!).
-
Just a disclaimer here...I love and respect everyone's opinion on who or what they like or don't like on DWTS, and please, don't ever take offense to any opinion I blab out there. I'm happy to be enjoying the show with all of you on this forum, it makes the show more fun for me. Please don't take any offense to my comments, I'm merely a gal who's a big fan of the show.
-
Of course we won't! Each of our different opinions is what makes it fun!!!
-
Here's my run down of tonight's show:
Kelly Pickler: Dang! What a body! I like her pairing with Derek.
Val and his partner Vendaya: Wow! (And I kinda like the show without the Maks drama!)
Peta and the bachelor: That Peta has such smoldering sensuality.
Katrina & Jacoby: OMG! Hot, hot, hot. I don't care what Len says. I think Karina is very, very happy to have him as a partner.
Mark & Ali Raisman: I loved her in the Olympics, but can't help thinking she resembles Bristol Palin. I didn't care for her outfit.
Dorothy Hamill: She looks beautiful. I wasn't a big fan of the contemporary dance, but looking forward to seeing other dances from her.
Anyone celebs I didn't mention gave sort of forgettable performances.
One thing I wasn't a fan of was those white spotlights...a number of times during the show they flashed and completely block out the dancers. It was too distracting.
Gonna go on Facebook now and vote!
-
Just voted.
Here is my run down:
*Kellie- fun, good lines
* Victor-cute, I think he has potential
* Ingo-maybe
* Lisa-OK
* DL-not so much
* Zeadah-LOVED her. Often Disney kids don't have the fan base, so I hope she does well anyway, because I thought she was great.
* Shawn- so-so
* Al-may have potential, didn't like the outfit either
* Dorothy- lovely, beautiful lines
*Wionna....you can be heavy and a great dancer, but that she was not....
*Andy- liked him, very energetic and light on his feet
Jacoby-SLURP!!!!
-
Wow you guys are good!
The Divine and Ruth-I agree with you both. I loved Dorothy Hamil and Zeadah. I didn't know Ali was such a big girl...or maybe it was her costume. So tomorrow there is no dancing or anyone getting kicked off, right?
-
No, just some practice/background scenes. First boot is next Tuesday.
-
I fell in love with Zendaya! I hope enough others did too to keep her around awhile regardless of her fan base. Gymnists usually seem to do well and I liked both Ali and Dorthy. Hugley looked hopeless to me but most of them looked pretty good. I think it is going to be a realy good season.
Been mulling over my vote, better go cast it.
-
I thought the same about Ali, she really did resemble Bristol Palin. I voted for Andy Dick I though he did a fine job, loved Kellie absolutely love Wynona but girl can't dance, Zeadah wow girl can dance (voted for her as well) as for DL well what can I say, he may be the first to go.
-
I agree with many of the comments above. Was glad to see Peta; the GMA website didn't mention her & bachelor Sean Lowe but looking back they only listed 11 couples so there's #12.
Wynonna - girl can sing but not dance.
DL - funny man but a wooden dancer.
Kellie - wow! They always give Derek a good partner.
Jacoby - respectable but not great (yet).
Aly - her outfit didn't do her justice, made her look fat.
Zendaya - great job and only 16!
Andy - did so much better than I thought he would.
Ingo - just OK.
Lisa - meh. But her partner Gleb is the new Russian hottie.
Victor - stiff, and his partner was leading most of the time.
Dorothy - very nice, lovely lines. BC survivor. Did you catch Brooke's comment about DWTS as escapism during tx?
Sean - not my fave.
Won't be able to watch tonight so looking forward to next Mon!
-
Ooo...badger, I agree about that new Russian hottie, Gleb. He really caught my eye.
Ruth: Jacoby/SLURP...lol...agreed!
I don't know why they can't start eliminating tonight and get on with the show. Still, it looks like the beginning of a good season.
-
I agree, Mrs. M. Why not start eliminating?!
I surprise myself by rooting at the moment for Andy Dick! Normally he irritates me -- and the whole rehab thing is going to get a little tiresome -- but he is really putting it out there. Love it when the DWTS contestants feel the fear and do it anyway! Go Andy Dick!
Never like the people I call 'ringers' -- the ones who can already dance, olympians, etc.
-
Alas, poor me....I will be in the air tomorrow during DWS, flying to Arizona for a little 'fun in the sun'. If one of my favorites does particularly well, grab a non-voting family member and have them vote for me in absentia
. I'll catch up with you all next week. Happy Easter!
-
ruth, enjoy your R&R! Happy Easter to you, too.
-
Average show tonight, but okay. Poor Dorothy Hamill, she looked way too matronly. It looked like Tom Bergeron was almost rolling his eyes over another middle aged woman all emotional because the dancing is 'so hard'. I expected her to be more like Jennifer Gray.
DL Hughley, hey, he was way improved. I might give him some of my votes. I like Andy Dick more than I thought I would.
Kelly & Derrick, okay that was good but put some clothes on! And less smoke.
Other favorites for me this week were the football player, the Disney kid, and I loved Ally Raisman. I think she's got some hidden potential there.
The others were sort of average.
Brooke Burke looked like she was wearing pajamas.
-
Have fun, Ruth! Soak up some extra warmth for me OK?
My faves tonight were Jacoby & Karina, Zendaya & Val, and Kellie & Derek.
Loved Zendaya's dress but couldn't keep my eyes off Val. That man can dance!
DL much improved but still not so good. He or Wynonna may be first to go.
Dorothy may have the fan votes to stay. Hated Andy's weird Mad Hatter thing.
The rest ranged from OK to pretty good. Gleb is a great addition to the cast.
-
Yeah, Gleb has a certain appeal that comes across well on the camera.
And Val is really professional. By that, I mean, yes, whoa, the man can dance, but also, he is interested in polishing the dance moves of his celebrity so she shines, and it's not about him. He doesn't bring the Maks drama, and I like that.
-
Maks had gotten too star-struck. Unfortunately, the star he was struck on was himself!
-
Well, that was a fitting ending to the first elimination of the season. I'm disappointed because I know Dorothy Hamill had great potential, but I loved when Carrie Ann told her she was setting a great example by taking care of herself first. And I love that her 'theme song' on DWTS is 'Tiny Dancer'.
Lots of good dancers this season, and it surprised me! Vendaya, Jacoby, Ally, Kelly.
And is it fair that Kelly has such a rockin' bod, is stunningly gorgeous, AND can dance like that??? Not to mention having Derrick for her partner? What star was she born under??? lol
-
Oh, one more thing...I loved when the Housewife said she was interested in older men like Len and not the young bucks like Gleb. It was adorable. Tho I bet there's lots of women viewers her age that would love to have a juicy little squeeze box like Gleb by their side!
-
I can't watch DWTS on Tuesdays so get elimination news on-line.
Sorry to see Dorothy go but it was a noble gesture to bow out and let others go on.
-
Was able to watch the Tuesday night show, so feel 'in the loop'.....no conflicts for tomorrow night, thank goodness!
-
I missed last week - why did Dorothy bow out?
I love Kelly - she is great!
-
vay-cay, Dorothy bowed out due to an injury.
I loved this evening's show. That Gleb is a hottie. The housewife, I don't watch those housewife shows, but she's so cute and gracious.
Zendaya's dance was beautiful, and I loved that she danced to an 'oldie' with "Que Sera Sera". Val does a fabulous, fabulous job in looking regal, being her man, and letting her shine.
I also like Ally Raisman. She has poise and grace, and a quiet confidence.
My least favorite was Wynonna. Great singer, not so much a dancer.
-
Doctor's orders. She injured her back (I think it was her back, right girls?).
Here is my run down:
Ally-neutral, she didn't do badly but she didn't grab me
Andy-fun to watch, made me laugh out loud
Ingo-strong moves but seemed too mad for me
Lisa- I actually enjoyed her dance this week
Kelly- very, very good
Victor- I enjoyed his dance too
D.L.-looked to be in pain!
Jacoby-very nice and smooth
Wyonna-didn't dance, just stood....no, no, no
Shawn-fun
Zendaya-beautiful dancing...very nice as a couple
