Dancing with the Stars

I missed the most of the first hour, but what I saw was interesting. I loved the relay dance at the end, it did spice things up some to compare them in a group dance this early in the competition. It was similar to what they did last season with the top 3 and the paso doble.

I don't think anyone did truly awful, so I am not sure who is going home. I was really surprised at the final standing - I thought that Delay & the ultimate fighting champion were the bottom two and it ended up being the iron chef and the football player. Donny is light years better than Marie was. He is kinda cute the way he is so uncomfortable dancing with some one other than his wife - I thought the kiss was sweet. I am looking forward to the women tonight.
-
ADK -I thought the end was very confusing because the camera was pointed at Mark Dacascos from Iron Chef but in reality the names that were called out for the bottom two were rather Ashley Hamilton and Michael Irvin.
Mark came in third -just behind Aaron Carter and Johnny Osmond.
-
Glad you caught that Saluki. I was a bit confused. The ultimate fighting guy was so stiff. Poor guy, he needs to find his feminine side.
Today is the ladies turn but I'm not sure if I'll get to wath the entire show. It's premier week and there are other shows DH wants to watch too. I may just have to watch it by myself on the small TV.
-
Once again the judges have managed to be very critical of the ladies. I think Mya was really good but Leni sure didn't cut her any slack. Yet, he was kinder on the guys last night even though a couple of them were absolutely terrible. Has anyone else noticed this too? grrrr
-
Ok here are my thoughts lost my first post...front nrunners
Donnie Osmond (childhood heart throb saw him twice in concert in the70s)very competitve watched him watching the other performances.
Mya beautiful she is in ti for the long haul !!
Kellly Osbourne WOW so touching to see her parents emotion.
Derek Houghs partner came out very strong !!boob envy since mine are sitting in a lab somewhere !!!
those are my 4 favs so far
agree with some stars as very stiff and rehaersed looking couting steps etc they will come along..
much love Cheryl

Thanks, Susie - I did get that wrong. I loved Kelly last night - no, she wasn't the best of the women (that would be Derek's partner, Paula, is it?) but she was so good for a first time. I loved seeing Sharon in tears and I could actually understand Ozzie when he spoke!!!! My prediction for going home tonight is Ashley Hamilton and Macy Gray. I like Macy, but she really was the worst of the women. Kathy Ireland did not do so well either. As ever, JMHO.
-
Anne - this was my first time seeing Macy Gray. Her body language spoke volumes. She looked so uncomfortable and out of her comfort zone. I don't think she will stick around for long.
-
Yeah.....Macy is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
My sister and I watched the ladies on Tuesday and we both agreed that Macy should go. Like you said, her body language spoke volumes, like she didn't even want to be there.

Hey Sheila - Nice to see you again.
Did you guys watch the tribute to Patrick Swayze? What did you think?
-
I thought the tribute was really nice. He really did do a lot for getting people interested in dancing. I'm glad they took the time to recognize that.
-
I got home from Church Wednesday night in time to see the tribute to Patrick Swayze. It impressed me that they recreated the big dance scene from 'Dirty Dancing', although the lift wasn't as high as Swayze did the lift. (I have the DVD of Dirty Dancing and watched it last week after his death).

So, who's going home tonight? I suspect it will be Kathy Ireland. I really disagreed with the judges on a couple of the stars last night - the skiboarder was terrific and they didn't really give him his due. I also thought that the ultimate fighter was terrible and they thought he was so great. As ever, JMHO.
-
Anne - I agree with you. The ultimate fighter was terrible...didn't even look like a tango. I don't understand why they are so critical of some and so lax of other? I too think Kathy is going home tonight. She is one classy lady...no matter what they say to her she stands there and smiles. That must be so hard to do.
-
I agreed and thought that Kathy needed to go home. She seemed so stiff while dancing. She had no enthusiasm in her dance. The ultimate fighter looked like he was trying to fight his way through the dance. Sure he is strong and should have been a strong presence in the tango but it lacked the finess of the dance.
-
I was scared for his petite partner. She is so small and delicate looking and he looks so big and mean, not one ounce of elegance. What an odd couple. LOL
BTW - I couldn't believe the politician almost dropped Cherryl. OMG that was so funny!
-
It's sexy rumba and samba tonight and the chemistry is flowing!
-
What I saw of the show was impressive. I do feel sorry for Tom Delay trying to dance with two stress fractures in his feet. I think he will go home tonight.
Sheila
-
I felt badly for Debbie - she seemed so determined. I really think it is a popularity contest until it gets down to the final 6 and she lost out because apparently not that many people know her. Her dance wasn't good this week, but last week she was great. Not surprised at all about Delay going home. I was so surprised that the judges asked to see the ultimate fighter's dance again - I admit, I was amused by it, but there were much better dances to repeat. I suspect this is how the judges try to control the public voting. JMHO
-
If I remember right Len did say that he wanted to see Chuck dance again because he thought it was fun to watch, not because it was the best dance done on Monday.
I agree that Debbie was voted off because not many people recognized her, I sure didn't know who she was.

Okay - last night I realized how many really good dancers they have this season. I wouldn't want to have to decide who I like best. That being said, I do know who is showing little improvement and probably should go home - Michael Irving. He's a sweet guy, but I kept waiting for him to do something on the dance floor - he just stood there. As always, JMHO.
-
I didn't see much of the show last night but I agree that Michael isn't doing very well (didn't Carrie Anne say he was going from pose to pose without too many dance moves?). Also Aaron didn't impress me much last night.
Sheila
-
I agree, there are several good dancers this season. Wow, Mya is just great! She is so graceful and has such rhythm. I just love watching her dance. Oh and Dmitry is such eye candy!
How old is Aaron? I can't believe he cried...big baby. I don't think I have ever seen any contestant cry. And the judges have been mean on some of the ladies. I remember Kelly from General Hospital...they were brutal on her. But, I don't think she actually cried on the contrary it made her push forward and more determined to win.
-
I did a look-up and he was born Dec 1987, so that would make him 21. I didn't see Chuck dance Monday night so I couldn't comment on how his dance was. Although he wasn't dancing on the same level as the others in what I saw.
Sheila
-
I was surprised that it was Chuck and not Michael that went home last night. I suspect Michael will go next week unless he comes up with something spectacular. Aaron seems to be fading - he started out good, but each week he is less so. The judges had it right - his dance this week was more of a parody than a real dance.
I think it is great that the public picked Sabrina for the build a dance. She was someone who was sent home way too early the season she was on.
JMHO
-
Thank goodness for this thread. I thought I had taped the results show but no such luck. I agree that Michael should have gone home. I was surprised about Aaron crying over a dance contest.
Love Mya and Kelly. I hope they go far.
-
UH Oh - I just read that Derrick may not dance tonight because he has the flu - Max is supposed to step in for him.
-
I missed the first 20 minutes again and missed several dances. Of the dancers I saw Louie seemed not to progress much, still seemed to just walk and pose for his partner to dance around him.
Sheila
-
I agree, Shelia - they all did pretty well last night but Louie - I think he might be going home tonight. I am not sure who was the best last night - Mya was awesome, Joanna was pretty good even thought she had to trade partners, and Donny did really well. Even Michael stepped up. We'll find out tonight.
