Hi Ladies,
My last chemo session was Sept 29th of 2006 and the last four were Taxotere. It left me with neuropathy in my fingers and feet, I still have it somewhat in my feet, but in my fingers it has now been replaced by joing stiffness and less flexibility. Is this common after neuropathy? Gripping things has become akward sometimes.

Annie....I'm guessing that you're not on an AI or you'd associate the joint stiffness with that, as many others have..? I developed carpal tunnel about a year post-chemo and still have neuropathy in my toes. Chemo sure does weird, unpredictable things to us, doesn't it? For lack of a better explanation, I'd guess that you've developed some arthritis in your fingers. Maybe you can have a rheumatologist check it out if it continues.

Hi Annie - my chemo ended in December 2006 and I am finally noticing the neuropathy in my fingers improving (it was so bad I could not button my clothes). But now I am noticing pain in the bones of my fingers - I believe it was probably there the entire time along with the neuropathy, but the numbness of the neuropathy was hiding it.

Thanks Marin and Sue, no I'm not on an AI. You are right about chemo doing weird things to you, thankfully this seems to be the only side effect which has lasted so long. I have an upcoming appt. with my oncologist, so will get her advice.

I am over 2 years out from chemo and still have numbness in my right foot with swelling in the ankle and stiffness. I am on tamoxifin and starting arimidex soon. Not sure if it will even get better
