Do you feel anxiety before seeing your onc?

It's been almost 2 1/2 years since dx for me, and going for my regular onc check-ups hasn't bothered me much. I have to see her today, however, and for some reason I feel a lot of anxiety.

I have been feeling fine--a little tired sometimes--but nothing out of the ordinary. Of course, every ache and pain I have freaks me out on days like this.

    Kate,
Funny that you say that as I have to be there in an hr and have yet to take a shower. Thinking of taking an anti-anxiety med just to ease the nerves. For me,it began two yrs ago, this week, and perhaps that triggers the whole thing.

I,too, feel fine;just it is the bldg and the drs,the techs, the whole shebang...Thinking of you and hope your visit goes well!

I hope all goes well for you, too.

Yes, the building, the smell--everything about it--kind of nauseates me.

Are you kidding???? I feel anxiety everytime!! I'm only a year out. So does my DH and he is 6 years out. I mean we love our ocn and his staff but those visits are way too stressful.

    You are not alone.

I go see my onc. every four months and I'm 2-1/2 years out and I still get queasy every time I go. I have an appointment next month and a week before I'll start wondering if this is the time he finds something.

I too get stressed before I see my onc, as I am now. I'm 1 year out of treatment and I have my 3 month checkup next week. I'm going Monday for the blood work and then Wednesday I see my onc and will see the results of the blood work. I feel fine, but always stressed before a checkup. Not sure if it ever goes away. Hugs to all...

Oh yes... I am about 3 years and 4 months out... but whose counting... LOL

I get really anxious. I hate the building, and everything.

Where do you get so lucky as to have ativan??

Yup. I actually got my thyroid checked because of a racing heart. Turns out I was just anxious over the appointment! But it did find I had hypothyroidism - the opposite of what they were looking for.
