I don't know what it is, but I don't like going to bed at night. When I was going through treatment and 1 year out I had to take tylenol PM. Otherwise my mind would race. Now I stay up until I am really tired...read or surf?? is it me??
I used to love going to sleep at night.

Janis,
I've always had trouble sleeping, but since my mastectomy in January 2004 I absolutely cannot sleep unless I have a small nightlight and leave the bedroom door open. Don't know what it is, but it started when I came home from two nights in the hospital. I also stay up until I absolutely cannot keep my eyes open....there's been a few times I've seen the sun come up! Good thing I don't have to be anywhere first thing in the morning!

I stay up late, too. I just hate to go to bed cause it's so hard to get to sleep most nights. I have to get back up after an hour of rolling around. I read a while and try again. Not afraid of the dark, we leave a couple of lights on in the house, but the bed room is kept very dark to help with sleep.

Yes, I have become so restless in bed that I have moved into the guest room. I stay awake reading until my eyes close, and usually wake an hour or so later. I catnap for an hour at a time until I have to get up for work - boy,am I exhausted.
But you know what? I haven't mentioned it to any of my docs.
Not afraid of the dark either, just not getting to sleep. It's 6 am where I am now, and I have been surfing since 4. So tired, butnos sleep.

For 2 years now I go to sleep with the tv on. If I'm hearing Dave or the Fresh Prince, my mind doesn't have to think.

I also sleep with the tv on or music playing...Ive been a light sleeper so any outside noise wakes me....now I just sleep an hour, awake two!!!!! once in awhile my body evidentally gets tired enough that I sleep through the night but then I feel like Im bruised all over and usually wake with a headache....NO happy medium ....

I use books on tape to go to sleep by. Have to be nonfiction or i get to into the story.
