I didn't really know where to post this so here I am.

I was talking to a guy who works in my department yesterday. He knows I am on the town's dragonboat team and he was asking about it. I hardly know this guy, by the way.

Anyways, he told me his mother is a 15 year survivor of breast cancer mets. Her initial cancer spread to her chest wall and lymph nodes and she was classified stage 4 15 years ago. She has had numerous surgeries, chemos and hormone treatments over the years, he said. Her latest surgery was a few months ago. They took out ribs apparently. She is scheduled for chemo again.

She lives alone and works and travels and well, lives a full life. This guy said she only wants true support if she is "really bad".

I thought it was an amazing story that this woman has been living with mets for all these years and carries on. What strength.....

And it gives us hope too....

I just thought I would share...

Wendy that is so inspiring, but I feel so inadequate for wimping out the last few days.

God grant that I can deal with things like she does.

Thanks for sharing something so wonderful.

Wow, thanks for sharing that with us. Always good to hear stories of strong people who go on, even with Stage IV. Sometimes I say to myself "how do these people find the strength"? These people are like the strongest people on this planet. AMAZING!

Hi Wendy, Yes, this is very positive for me. Since of course, I have been worrying a little to much. This gives us all some hope in this. Thank You.

    God Bless You,
