hi
i have just returned from a wonderful time where i joined in the "field of woman" which took place in sydney on saturday night there were 13,100 people involved the amount of people who will be told they have breast cancer this year. we were all dressed in pink ponchos and made the shape of our beloved pink lady. survivors people in treatment carers and loved ones who havn`t made it all joined in this united front.
i met a couple who were from usa who were there visiting their son and joined in. this gave hope, sense of belonging, feeling if acceptance and that no matter what your not out there alone there are thousands of us all sharing the same trip.
personally i was there for myself as survivor and for my sister who didn`t make but have every faith she was there and wanted to be counted. it gave me the courage to go on fighting and now i know i can face chemo again and whatever comes along in the future.
i know we can all give it run for its money

Hi Ann,
I was part of the Field of Women too. Wasn't it a great night? I particularly noticed the large number of young women taking part. For our population, 13,000 diagnoses each year is quite sobering and being amongst such a huge group really brought this home to me. I was there as a survivor as I am the only one in my family to have had bc but felt a great connection to all those who took part.
Sending you healing and loving thoughts for your treatment and future survival. -

Hi Ann,
Are you also on the Aussie bc site? My name is Flannelflower on that one. Should have kept Geebung I suppose but I like both names as they're 2 of my favourite native plants.
Would be great to see you at the next FOW!
Cheers,
