Hi Girls, (also posted this on stage III board and HER2 board)
Well, As a Stage IIIer i've had a bilat. mast. My chemo AC/taxol/herceptin finished in Jan. Now i've been on herceptin alone since then, and in the meantime i've had radiation to my right chest wall. Rads were in Feb/March.
So here's my concern. I had a follow up CT in FEB before rads and all clear, had a follow up CT yesterday, and there's evidence of some previous lung infection/pneumonia? There is no active disease currently i've been told. So basically i guess there is scarring on the middle lobe of my right lung. I don't understand, because i haven't been sick to any great extent since i've been done with rads. The only thing is that i was having slight chest irritation and had an X-RAY which was clear. I feel terrible, i don't know what happened to my lung, and how do they know there's nothing active still going on, i hadn't had symptoms and still don't. I feel like i need to find out what caused this change in my lung but am not sure what to push for and who to push! any suggestions????

I would assume the lung thing is from radiation...
Does your onc want to do a follow up scan in 3 months?

It sounds like it could be from radiation. Why not call your rad onc and have him look at it and see what he thinks.

I also had a spot that showed up on my lung after radiation. It was there for approximately 8 months and then cleared up. Relsult of radiation. The doctors don't know why it cleared up like it did but it did. It's never come back. Hopefully that will be the case with yours.

    Hi Shia,

You might want to start a new post, rather than responding to this one, because you're more likely to get responses that way.  YOu might want to call the American Cancer society, they could probably give you some numbers and advice.  Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, hope your feeling well, take care,
