My 60 year old mother been diagnosed with bc bonemets. She is currenly living with my sister and her family. I live 80 miles away from her so I will do my best to visit with her twice a month.
Lately, I do not want to talk to my mom on the phone. All the time I talk to her my pain in my heart it just too much that I prefer not to even call her...It there something wrong with me ?

    Mary,

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you! I can understand how sometime it hurts too much. My mom starts chemo again today for mets that has just recently spread to her liver and as much as I love talking to her sometimes it is just too hard. Despite this I try to be there, not to beat myself up and remember that there is hope! Please feel free to pm me if you ever want to chat.

Don't be ashamed, there is nothing wrong with you - cancer emotions are not just for the patient, but also the family. Maybe you can get strength from knowing what the conversation means to her and how it helps her. I hope all goes well for your entire family.

    Best wishes.
