Hello, Has anyone heard of Dr. Johanna Budwig? Read several articles on her natural method of treating cancer and other diseases by consuming natural flaxseed oil with cottage cheese everyday. I was curious to see if anyone else had heard of this.

Yes Daisey, I was given some articles to read about her and it was recommended to consume 1T high-ligun flax seed oil in cottage cheese or yogurt each day even though I'm ER+.

Thanks Linda for replying. I am also er+ and I was afraid to take flaxseed oil. Will have to ask my onc what he thinks. I am already eating healthy and just wasn't sure what else to add to my diet. The information on her research looks so promising it definitely makes one wonder why more doctors aren't informing one of what she has offered to the medical community. Maybe I am going to the wrong doctors. Thanks again.

Yes. I tried to save my cat with the cottage cheese and the specific flax oil that she recommended. He had cancer. A woman in the vet's office swore by this. Sadly, it didn't help my cat.

If you google her there is a lot of information. If you google "the budwig diet", there is alot of info on that too. From what I gather and I'm on information overload so I may be wrong...there is a great deal more to her diet recommendations. The budwig principles are drastic and involve a big lifestyle change in cutting out alot of foods and juicing I think. I beleive these things can work but it is very very difficult to adhere completely and unfortunately taking bits and pieces of all of the different programs (like I do...i'll eat low glycemic and a little macrobiotic and no dairy, some dairy, only organic dairy...haha) is probaby not so effective.

This is what is not allowed on her diet:

Sugar
All animal fats
All meats
Margarine
Butter
Salad dressing oils- exception extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar
Preservatives in food

Thanks guys. I went ahead and googled her name and came up with quite a few links for abundant of info. It is a drastic diet as i read but something else to consider. Really sorry about your cat.
