Good GRIEF, Jackie...How terrifying - especially after watching you and Anne...But remind her that EIGHTY percent. of things like that are nothing. Nothing. I had a cyst in my breast two years before anything was diagnosed, so they do just happen. Praying that it's all nothing. Hug her for me, will you?
-
Jackie! Yikes! I will be thinking of her and hoping for nothing unusual!
DeAnn
Hey California ladies! Less than 24 hours! So excited to see you guys!
-
In this Sept. 26, 2009 photo released by 'Jump For The Cause,' 181 female skydivers from 31 countries joined together to set a new women's formation skydiving world record in Perris, Calif. The women raised more than $900,000 for the fight against breast cancer, the most in the event's history. The week-long event was organized to raise funds for City of Hope's breast cancer research.

weird. the picture shows up in my "post a reply" window, but it disappears when i actually post it. Sounds like the rest of my day today. Oh well.
It is a jillion women (oops, just 181) up in the sky looking like a gi-normous multi-colored flower - skydiving. Sheesh. And I feel so noble when I buy a candy bar that donates 2%. -
Wow, $900,000!?!?!?!? That's incredible! Although I don't think I'd leap out of a perfectly good airplane to do it, but good for them, that's amazing!
See ya SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Jackie, just wanted you to know how badly I feel for your daughter. But Kaye is right, a huge majority of cysts are never anything but an annoyance. Please keep us posted.
Kaye,Nash, DeAnn....all of you out there in sunny CA.......hope you have the best time ever enjoying each other's company and meeting the family. Now you all remember to raise a glass or two
to the rest of your teammates while you're doing it!best to all........

We will be thinking of you, June, and Harley and Jackie as well. Love to all....

Clockwise from far left: Carlo Nunez, Stephanie (Nash) Nunez, DeAnn Hoff, Kaye Hunt, Terry Hunt, Lanny Hoff, Jasper Hoff, Anthony Nunez, Emily Nunez.
We commented on how grateful we were to have each other to hang on to through the whole ordeal - and remembered those of us who didn't make it through it ...Pixie Dust (Stacie) and Kimmie...and longingly remembered those of us who stayed home THIS TIME. (You will not get off so easy next time!) We've started a rumor of a cruise or possibly a trip to Italy to crash Lilith's world. How's next year sound? WHO'S IN???

-
Thanks Kaye......what fabulous pictures! OMG...DeAnn and Nash, your "chillings" look just LIKE you. What a compliment! Sorry Kaye, your DH looks very sweet, however you're still the prettiest.
It sure looks like you all were having a fabulous time and aren't you blessed to have had the opportunity to do it.Now regarding those rumors floating around. I'm afraid Italy would be out for me but I sure am open to anything else we might come up with. Maybe since we are so scattered over these United States that we would have better luck picking someplace closer to the center of the country, ie: Texas area or ????? Anyway, I think we would have to plan out 8 to 10 months to get everyone's schedule arranged, don't you?
best to everyone...

Jackie... I cannot even start to think of the stress to go through the horror of tests for a daughter; yet, given her age ... it will be nothing. Let's be positive: it goes to show that she has good doctors, watching over her and taking care of her. She will be fine. I'll be thinking of you two though, so please, come back soon and keep us posted.
Kaye, Nash, DeAnn... what wonderful pics. You all look stunning - DeAnn, you look such a little cute thing - and knowing of all your active sports makes it hard to believe!!! Nash, it is true that your little ones are really just like you. Same smile, same sparkle.
Reunions places are hard to find, June is right that we are all scattered around - not even mentioning me being out here; and my work schedules are horrid... but I'll look for opportunities.
Lots of hugs.
-
Here's a random idea for a location that's vaguely central (except for Lilith, for whom nothing is central, which is why we were shooting for Italy
). The Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs is spectacular. We used to drive up from NM for vacation there when I was a kid. We'd stay at a cheaper hotel nearby and eat at the resort and pay for some of their activities that they have available (like paddle boat and tennis). -
Thanks for the Link - it looks great. It also seems pretty kid-friendly for those of you who have friendly-kids
. As I've said before, I'm open to anything - anyplace as long as I have enough time to plan/save etc.Hey Jackie - how goes it?
-
Hi Ladies,
What great pictures. You all look so beautiful. Sorry we all weren't there.
Great news for my daughter Christi......whew.......just normal "tissue" that was irritated...from possibly her bra? getting close to menstrual cycle??? they're not sure but it's not even a cyst. We are thrilled. These are things that freak me out that would never have panicked me before cancer. And I mean, give me what you want but please dear Lord, leave my children alone.
Thanks for all the support
Hugs, Jackie

Ladies,
Okay, Kaye, I won't be jumping out of an airplane but this Sunday, October 11th...my sister and I will be walking on the football field at the New York Giants game with 48 other breast cancer survivors!!!! Her doctor asked her to be part of the group. Gloria Gaynor will sing "I will survive" and the national anthem. We will be standing with the players!!!!!! I am so excited. I don't know if anyone gets this game but it will be happening at 12:42 p.m. Look for the shortest redhead with a pink shirt on (LOL!!!) Oh.....and I will be dancing to the song.....LMAO!!!
I will be carrying all of you with me in my heart!!!!
Hugs, Jackie
-
Fantastic news all around, Jackie! I'm so thankful that your DD is alright, and I'll look forward to watching the game on Sunday!!!!!!!
-
Oh Jackie, that is FANTASTIC! What fun!!!
I'll be too late landing in JFK to participate.. but... will definitely be thinking of you!
And I am thrilled for the news about your daughter.
)) -
Great news, Jackie! And now i have a question - "Look for the shortest redhead with a pink shirt on (LOL!!!) Oh.....and I will be dancing to the song.....LMAO!!!" Would the redhead be YOU? (You'll be the one with no a$$ because you Laughed it Off, but the hair color is throwing me, presently)...I hope we can get it out here...maybe DH can find it online somehow. HOW STINKIN' FUN!!! (Lookin' for a little redhead with no hind quarters. Always fun.)
On another note, did you meet you new GYN today? or is that tomorrow (Wednesday...I forget it's 3 hours difference out here - it's ALREADY tomorrow back there!)
And Nash, don't you have a bone scan Wednesday, too? They were on my calendar...I thought I"d ask.
Hugs to all!
-
Hi Ladies,
LOL!!! Sorry, Lilith...I thought you were landing on Saturday. You're not coming in until Sunday???? I am so sorry about the mix up.
I will take lots of pictures and maybe I'll meet a handsome football player!!!! I know this is mean and catty, but do you think Gloria Gaynor can really sing the national anthem????LOL. I might have to take over for her.
Nash....bone scan is today, right? I hope it's okay. I met my gyno/onc and he was young and handsome with beautiful blue eyes. I had a hard time concentrating (only kidding, about the concentration part). He says MRI shows that it is a fibroid, not a cyst or mass. The u/s does show it as a mass or cyst but MRI "defines" it. Based on that, he does not recommend any removal of ovaries but to just follow up. However, thickening of the endometrial lining caused him to do a biopsy. He doesn't think it's anything but he wants to monitor. (We've all heard that before). I feel like it's good news. He wants me to follow up with gyno but I'm looking for a new one. Thanks for all your support.
Nash....I'm praying for you.
Hugs, Jackie
-
Good news, Jackie! Although sorry to hear about the endo biopsy. How did that go?
Speaking of endo biopsies, I just got off the phone with my gyn. I'd been researching endo thicknesses, and I thought mine was fine at 12mm considering my period started the week after the pelvic u/s. So I questioned him on it, and he agreed it was probably OK in the absence of abnormal bleeding. So, yay. Glad that got canceled.
Yes, I had the bone scan today. It went fine, but they took extra views of the area that hurts, and also asked me if my lower back hurts (it does). So I don't know what that means, if anything. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
-
Hang in there, Nash. Did they tell you how long you had to wait?
-
No, they didn't say how long I had to wait. I was going to ask, but after the debacle earlier this year with waiting for biopsy results/call from doc per radiologist instructions, when it turned out I was supposed to call doc, I figure it didn't make any difference. If I don't hear anything today I will call Friday morning.
-
Hey Jackie......"oh happy days" all around. So happy for you and your family. Dancing on the football field huh??? Reminds me of my old cheer leading days at 'dear ole Monroe High.....now where did I put those pompons....I could have loaned them to you all! LOL
Nash, fingers crossed for good results and FAST results my friend.
lilith, what brings you to the states...business?
hugs to all....

Strange thing here. I posted a question about Harley a few minutes ago and evidently it didn't post. Anyway, has anyone heard from her? We miss you Harley...where are you?
Hugs...
June
-
She's always on facebook, playing the Mafia Wars game. LOL. I swear it's true. Are you on facebook, June? If not I'll tell her to drop in over here.
Hugs, Jackie
-
Jackie, how do I say this? I'm afraid I must be the last one in the world who doesn't twitter or facebook or any of those things! I guess I'm not comfortable with them and so avoid. I went on one of them quite some time back and signed in by invitation. In the next 3 weeks I must have gotten 50 "invitations" to be so and so's friend. They were all weird sounding names and certainly no one I knew. That did it for me! Old age you think?

Tell her I said hello and to come visit soon.

-
June,
LOL!!! I understand completely. I didn't even know I was on facebook. I inadvertently signed up for Stand Up to Cancer and it was through the facebook engine. I had no idea. My daughter told me. I am electronically impaired (that's what my family says), but somehow I manage some things on facebook. I will send her your regards...even though she's in the mafia now. LOL. Have a great weekend.
Hugs to all my girls, Jackie
-
Hi girls...
June, I am just going for some vacations. Sort of - going home! Haven't been back to Boston since 3 or 4 years now, I was supposed to go back just 3 days after my DX - and of course it had to be canceled. I am quite - how to say - all things about that. I almost had to cancel today on the account of a lost passport! yuk.
So my plans are all about eating, sipping (wine), seeing friends, and SHOPPING. Yep. I am exchanging my brain for a bimbo brain, and just have FUN.
My daughter will travel with me, we'll land in ny, then travel within Connecticut up to New Haven and Boston. I am told the leaves just changed in our honour!!! I'll take tons of pics, so that I can take some bits of my favourite city back with me.
Jackie, I know what you mean about FB. That's why I never accept most invitation, and it is so public... I have work collegues on that, and I am at this point keeping the BC history private.

Hugs to all. Not sure how much I'll be online - I hope not at all!!! but will tell you all when I am back.
-
Lilith--have a wonderful time!
Good news--my bone scan was clear.

-
lilith......just veg out and have a ball, you deserve it my friend.
Nash....horray horray for nice negative clear tests everytime girl!
hugs to all..
June
