Surgery's over--whoo hoo!

Had my lumpectomy yesterday--everything went fine. The SNB was negative, which I was pretty pumped about. The only bad thing was the surgeon said the tumor was "melting" into the chest wall muscle, and she had to take some of the muscle out (ouch). But she wasn't ready to call it Stage IIIb until the path comes back.

I don't have the final measurement on the tumor yet, but it seems that it was closer to the 2.5-3cm that the surgeon was estimating, vs. the 4.8 cm on MRI. So I'm glad I decided to follow the surgeon's advise and do my chemo post-surgery.

Thanks for the all the support, everyone!

That's great news! So happy for you...you have a very good prognosis...no nodes! Congrats.

Let us know the pathology. Will you be having more chemo and/or radiation?

    Take care of yourself.

The plan is for 6 rounds of TAC, then rads. I meet with the oncologist next week to go over everything.

nash that is great to be done, huh? Now you will get a little breather before starting anything else! Take some time to pamper yourself. NO NODES is fab! Best to you sweetie, let us know the path when you get it. Hugs, Marsha
