do you have LTD with your employer? If so, you could apply for that. I am in process of applying for SSD, mine will be easy because I have mets. Take a look at the thread in the mets section, there is one about applying for SSD with Stage III. You can try and get approved with cancer being an issue along with other underlying issues.

You said you were applying for SSI, there is a difference between SSI & SSD, one is disability, the other is for low income people. Make sure you are applying for the right one. Also, Susie (saluki) put a great post under that thread in the mets section on how to get your SSD approved. Good Luck!

    Hi there,
I have been trying to get SSD since Oct 2006, and I have been denied twice so far, I finally got a lawyer and I'm requesting a hearing. Besides the breat cancer, I'm only stag 2, I also have lymphedema in my right arm, and breast, and back, so it is hard to go back to a desk job, plus is Oct I found out I have cardiomyopathy with an injection fraction of only 33%, and I was in the hospital in Feb with congestive heart failure and I now have a ICD ( defibrillator) all my heart problems are from chemo.
Good luck with the SSD, don't give up.
