Lost my appetite for this company

Please read this story on how one company treated a man trying to help his wife get through breast cancer and ask yourself if you could support a company like this:
http://content.hamptonroads.com/story.cfm?story=128288&ran=112422
I called them to get their side of the story but was met with defensive answers. Draw your own conclusions, but I think we all should know. I'm writing a letter to the president of this company and am asking for his response before I boycott their products. It's a shame because they do have a quality product. But as I said in my response the newspaper article, "food over principle? never"!
My mother went through cancer treatments last Fall. During her treatments, my father passed away. Our family was devastated and appreciated all the support from family, friends and co-workers. If my business associates treated me like this company treated this couple, it would have sent me over the edge.

I am not surprised by this at all. This is corporate America. I haven't even told my job I have cancer. They would put me at the top of a next-to-be-fired list. I got laid off from a job many years ago when I had my second son. Companies don't want to be inconvenience and unless you are union or gov't you have no real protection.

my company treated me like this after my double mastectomy. i went back to work less than a month after my surgery, and they scheduled me for a hand to hand combat class. (could have given me a later date, because the classes ran for a two month period. had to go to our labor board, so they could "explain the rules" no switching times. offered another position, for 10.00 less an hour, and many other harrassing actions, that continue up until today, one yr. after my surgery.( i did the class, tightly wrapped with an ace bandage and lots of padding) but good news, i am a tough cookie, and i didn't and won't let them win! never challenge a lady, who has had her titties cut of, has no estrogen, and carries a gun! (job requirement). i am walking softly and carring a very big stick, and when i leave the company, next year, some important people will know how i was treated!
