please bare with my typing..I now have nuropthy very bad.
if you have read some of my postings you may know that I have went through 7 chemo in 18mths with very little response. (also did phase I drug trial at MD anderson in houston. that how i got nuro. they gave me a very large doses of the trial drug) I visited houston and my local doc in the last two weeks and they both told me they do not have any chemos that will work on me!!! I just had my 2nd mast 6/1/7, 27/28 nodes positive again like first mast 03/06. They told me I was ahead of bc science. I have no mets other than after surgery inflammatory that responsed to treatment. But no other met is a mircle with so many nodes positive both times. My first tumor was 7 cm. They have said to set back and wait for it to come back!!! And than they still may not know what to do. I have research triple neg for months and found nothing really new that they have missed. Help! Have taken chemos cat & gemza, avastan & carboplatinum and areoplatium. All other chemos are to treat mets. Do you ladies know any like me with no mets?

I am corresponding witth a woman who started a trial for stem cell therapy. Would you like me to ask her if you can correspond with her or if I can send you information. She was alos told that there were no more meds to offer her.

Why do they say no chemo has worked if you have no distant mets even though you have positive nodes? It is aggrevating that drugs approved for mets may work to prevent them, but are not approved. Sometimes local doc will go outside more than big centers. The other problem is insurance may not pay. Beth

Flalady,
I am sooooo sorry that you are going through this. I can't imagine. I hope you get some answers soon.
Can I please ask you a question? You said you have been researching triple neg....is being negative worse than being positive? Forgive my ignorance. It's my first go 'round and I am still learning.
Thank you and God Bless you,
Traci from Palm Harbor, FL. -
Yes triple negative means there is only chemo to treat. you stop chemo there is no hercepton (her2) or hormone treatment. Also triple neg means you have a unknow breast cancer... it is the name they give bc they don't know what it is. This means each triple neg can response to treatment differently.

They only do stem cell on advance bc. They tell me I do not have enough cancer to treat right now in trials.
But thanks.

They are two reason why they feel that they do not have a chemo for me. My cancer did not response to the diff. chemo families of drugs. But my cancer has stayed local could be a character of my triple neg. Did you know each triple neg patient could have diff. diease? Anyway...most cancer only work on solid tumors not loose cells. My local onc. is great. he is working on trying a drug design for lukemia that is not a chemo that I have a receptor for and they are in phase 1 trials. Ins. well not pay so he is begging the drug company. If I don't get this I may have to wait on a met to get more treatment. I really thought bc research was more advance than this. I guess I lucky to have this problem in some ways??? -
I can't believe what I have learned on this website today. I thought.....I was getting the easy treatment cuz my cancer was so not bad.
I need a xanax.
Thanks for the info Flalady.

Dear Traci - There are some positives for us triple negs. We are supposed to respond better to chemotherapy as opposed to HR+ girls. Also, if we have no recurrence within 3 years, my understanding is that there is a great chance of having no recurrence! We just have to have faith I guess.
