scared of reocurrence

Hi,

I am 39 y.o 4 month out of a chemo (FEC100),lumpectomy,chemo(Taxotere) and radiation cycle for an agressive (grade3, 4cm) tumor.
This past w/e I felt another lump in my treated brest and
am worried that it is a recurrence. I will get it checked out next week but was curious to find out what I should expect if it is positive.

A worried mother of 2

Oana
Will I go through chemo again? Radiation therapy?

I didn't have invasive so no chemo, but I did have grade 3 DCIS with lumpectomy and rads. I found months after I finished treatment and I just found another last month (9 months post rads). I have had them checked and they are all scar tissue from surgery and more from radiation. Remember that radiation changes the tissue in your breast. You will have to "re-learn" what is normal for that side. I would still get it checked for peace of mind. I did and felt much better after. I assume you will be going in for regular mammo's or mri's? Try not to worry hon, I'm sure that it's scar tissue.

By the way...it's normal to worry so soon after treatment. I have 4 children (I'm 38) and "worry" is my middle name. I also forgot to tell you that once they radiate a breast, they won't do it again. Get to the docs to get some peace of mind.

Thank you sooo much! I had an ultrasound today and it turnes out it is a cyst. But I know that with every new
change in my breast I will worry....you are right!
