Sore throat? herceptin related?

Just curious if anyone else doing the every three week herceptin dose is or has experienced any soreness of their throat, mucous/sinus issues? Initially i thought this may have been related to the radiation i had done, but chest x-ray was clear. It's been going on for atleast 2 months, and allergy meds don't really help. Kinda worried, but mostly just curious if any of my sisters have experienced the same thing. I'm starting my count down to finishing herceptin. THough I Thank God for Herceptin and all the help it offers, i'm starting to think the "no side effects" with herceptin is just not so true....unless i'm going crazy - it's possible

Hi LittleFlower:
It's well known (by the women who've taken it) that Herceptin often causes a runny nose, slight cough, post nasal drip. What you're having sounds like your own version of that. I had the above the last six months on herceptin, and it all went away after I finished my year.
If you're really worried, of course, check with your doc. You might also want to check the Her2 Support website and find the herceptin side effects thread. I think you'll be reassured.

Yes, many of us expressed the same symptoms you describe. I do not know where the medical community got the idea that there are no side effect because many of us know there is. Also, some of the effects I had with Taxol were prolonged with Herceptin. My foot swelled up and did not go down until after I was finished with Herceptin. A rash from Taxol continued and got worse with the first several months of Herceptin and finally subsided. However, having said all this, Herceptin is no where near as difficult to handle as AC or Taxol. Good luck!

Just had my third to the last dose of herceptin yesterday and have had the sniffles all day. I guess the no side effect thing is relative to the "hard core" chemo that went before.
