    Hello Brenda,

I'm from New London. Had my mastectomy and reconstruction done at Yale Hospital. Feel free to write me with any questions you have.

    Take care.

Hi, I do have a couple of questions. I am going in for my MRI tomorrow, 37 yo 2 daughters 9 & 5. Do you have chidren? if so, How do you tell them? I have a really good surgeon out of New Britian. How do you know who is the best? What made you decide on a mastectomy? I have IDC Left breast- did you encounter any pain in your arms at all? One more question, sorry but I don't know how to handle this. I have been waiting since May 28th does it really take this long for them to take this s--t out of you? How do they know how much it spreads in this amount of time? Frustrated. Brenda Thanks for your time.

    Hi,
I'm from CT - my mom had BC 4 years ago..she chose a mastectomy because she had gone in for DCIS and a lumpectomy and it showed a tiny.5mm section of invasive so she had just had it, and wanted it off...she had some physical therapy because she had a little restricted arm movement, but she is doing well. The surgery was painful but I was her caretaker and helped her shower and dry off...otherwise it was ok...I'm sorry you have to go through this - you can PM me with any questions...
The easiest thing to do with children is tell them what you have, that you have very good doctors who are going to fix you, and you will get through this. It takes a long time to spread so don't worry about the wait for the surgery...it's ok to feel scared and cry...but be hopeful -the sisters here will help you through it
    Love Marisa

    Hi all,

I am from Bristol CT and had a mastectomy/tram flap done in may.  everything happened so fast my head is still spinning.  I have just gotten the ok to start chemo.  I had an open wound that developed after my surgery and has finally healed (thanks to a skin graft)!  Smile
