I'm one year out from my diagnosis as of May 22.Everything has been going pretty well. I had my first mammogram since all of this happened, on Monday. I got a call that there is a cluster area on my other breast and they want to do a stereotactic biopsy. Oh my God, I feel like it's starting all over. This is the same area they did the stereotactic biopsy on last year and it was B9. Now I have to go through this again. I've just been wondering with all the toxins and chemo and herceptin I've been on, how could this happen? I thought that the herceptin was to keep this from happening again. I keep thinking that maybe the herceptin isn't working. I'm scheduled for the biopsy on Monday the 18th and sure not looking forward to it. I'm still getting the weekly herceptin infusions every Friday. I'm scared because this area is in my left breast and that's very near where my port is. I must sound like I'm babbling, I just can't believe this, same time as last year, when does it end? Does it ever end? I don't know if I can do this again. Please keep me in your prayers.

Susan-Im so sorry you are having to go through these steps again .....all I can say is that you are very much in my prayers and try to hold on to the fact that (if I read your post correctly) this was a b-9 area last year and it will be again this year!!!

what a shock that must be to you! You have every right to be concerned or shocked. The 18th is right around the corner, so please know you are in our thoughts/prayers, and let us know how things go... (and may you get the test results quickly - that's a whole 'nother level or worrying!!)

I'm teary eyed typing this just because we all know how awful it is to live through this anxiety. I agree with you- you have had so many meds and we have to believe they have done their job. Logically, this cluster area that was there last year, is probably benign as it was last year. It's so easy to assume and expect the worst, especially when we've already dealt with this once before, but why can't we get some good news every now and then? We can- and I'm praying that you will.

Susan, I'm sending a {{{HUG}}}} your way and prayers for B9 results. I didn't reach my one year anniversary either. I was dx'd May 31st, 2006. My one year scan last month showed something on my thyroid. I had an ultrasound done. I found it ironic that almost to the minute, year to year, I was talking to a physician about the possibilities of cancer. I go in for biopsies(found out from the ultrasound there are two spots) on the 21st. One spot had calcifications but I'm still hoping for the best.

It is so hard to believe that with all the poisons we have put in our bodies this past year, that anything would have the nerve to try to grow! I'm on H until October and was confident everything was being controlled. The only silver lining is that my tumor markers are low so they don't feel it is a recurrance ... it's a new primary. Oh, the joys of cancer. it keeps giving and giving. Is that why the Energizer Bunny is PINK????

Thanks ladies, Tomorrow is the big day and for some reason a new calm has come over me. I'm not afraid, I know it will be alright. My son came to see me yesterday and we sat outside in my "special place", a cleared out area of woods surrounded by trees and nature, We prayed and my son poured his heart out to God. I feel a calmness. I know it will be okay. I'll post when I get the great results.
