Herceptin and Tamoxifen

Can anyone tell me if they are on Herceptin and also Tamoxifen ? How have you been on these 2 together?

Hello I have taken Herceptin and Tamoxifen in the past during a chemotherapy break. I did not have any bad side effects; I found this to be an easy combination to tolerate. I am not sure how often this combination is used in earlier stages it would be interesting to know.

Hi Lakonia!

I have been on herceptin since Aug. 28 and tamoxifen Nov.24, and continue to be on them both. Original plan was to stay on Herceptin until Aug. of this year, and tamoxifen for 2 years (I'm 52, and in chemo pause). I've had no problems tied to this combo, however my MUGA recently dropped and I'm waiting to find out if the herceptin treatments will continue or not.

Hi Lakonia,
I am on both Herceptin and Tamoxifen, with little problems.
Hot flashes mostly from the Tamox, but they are getting better and better.

Me too. Was on Herceptin and Tamox together. Finished Herceptin in July of 06 and still on Tamox. Dx'd with 15 positive nodes in April of 05-- still here and kickin' it!!!
