One year mammo Monday and wiggin' out

Options
Hi all. This is Morgaine. In April 2006, I was diagnosed with DCIS in left breast, no nodes, ER+PR-, had two lumpectomies in left breast and 8.5 weeks of rads. I was 39 at diagnosis. Since that time, my sister was diagnosed with Stage IIIa BC, 51 (yes fifty one) lymph nodes positive. She had mastectomy (right breast removed) and is triple negative. She also had cancer in the nose. She's gone through 8 weeks of chemo, rads to nose and now will begin rads to chest. It was my diagnosis that alerted my sister's doctors (who really suck) that the lump she had was questionable.

Anyway, on Monday, May 21, I go in for my mammo and I'm really nervous. I am also supposed to get the results of my genetic testing on Friday, May 25. Since I'm relatively young for this, none of my friends understand. I'm really nervous. Outside of my sister and I, only one Aunt (paternal) has had BC and she got it at 72 years and died from it. I have a very large family (7 siblings) and so do each of my parents. The genetic counselors say I only have a 17% chance of having a mutation but still...

Next week is going to be a killer.
