My name is Krishna and I am 14 yrs old. I was watching tv when my mum came in the room and opened a letter I watched her reading it and on the letter it said 'Please bring your medications with you to the breast clinic' and all sorts of thought were running through my head, mainly bad ones. She put the letter down and walked out and I read the letter. She is going into hospital to have a mammogram and an ultrasound and If the doctor can feel a lump he will put a needle in and draw the cells. I hope she hasnt got cancer. Im so scared. No-one else has read it and no-one else knows, she doesnt even think I know. But i need to talk to someone, tell someone. But there is no-one i can trust to keep it a secret. She has an appointment and It says she can bring a friend. I want to go with her but I know she wont let me and even it I confront her about it she will say it's nothing. I think I have my exams then aswell but I'll be 2 busy worrying than concentrating on them. I dont know what to do, I keep thinking the worst and then I cry. I was thinking of telling my brother but Im not sure it's a good idea. help me!

I think you should let your mom know you saw the letter and ask if anything is wrong. She could just be getting to the age of regular screenings, nothing to worry about.

A lot of doctors like to know what medicines you're taking so that could be why they want her to bring them - they can get the exact name.

Anyway, talk to your mom. It could have been a form letter reminding her of an appointment. This is no time to panic.

    Take care,
    Kari

Hi Sweety, I think you should tell your mom. Just be honest and open with her. This is the best thing to do. Don't be scared to tell her. And, try not to worry to much at this point. Go ahead and tell her. I hope everything goes well. Take Care.

    Good Luck to you,
    God Bless.

I agree with Kari and Kaloni sweet girl....
If my daughter had seen a letter like that I would want her to talk to me about it...I wouldnt want her to worry like this and I know your mom wouldnt want you to either....
Let her know that you read the letter and that it scared you...but try not to worry, as the others have said Drs. offices send those types of letter to remind one of appts so it is probably just something as simple as that....
    Hugs
