Good mammogram and oncology check

I haven't posted here for awhile, but I like to come back and share sometimes. I had breast cancer twice (once in each breast about 1 year apart). I was first diagnosed in Feb of 2003 then again in June 2004.I developed a nasty infection also. I just had my oncology appointment (I've graduated to every 6 months) and it was fine. I also had a follow up mammogram and it was good. It had been the first time I had went a year between mammograms and it was very scary. I would say I am FINALLY feeling like a survivor. (although that is shaky sometimes). I wanted to share this with others who are still recovering or at high risk. Every year I feel a little more confident. Kathy

Congrats, Kathy. But just realize that even when you're five years out, like me, and seeing the onc annually, you'll still get shaky come that time of year...I chalk it up to being like post traumatic stress.

You ARE a survivor. Enjoy living like one!
