Nutri System?

I lost 5.5 pounds right away in the first 5 days! I cheated like crazy this weekend and gained a half a pound, but I am back at it.
I really like that I DON'T feel hungry or have the "need" to eat between meals.
Some of the food is totally barfy, I will say that. I like the bars, though.
We'll see how it goes! Hubby started today and was looking really grumpy.....
Love and prayers, Deb -
WooHoo Deb! That is awesome! I know the plan works. I felt pretty babyish returning my products, but I just didn't feel well on it. Keep up the good work!
Hugs,
Lexi -
Congrats Deb! Lexi, sorry for your scare. But so happy its nothing. Don't you hate little scares? grrr....
I get a little gassy on the foods too. Some more than others. However, I still have not lost any weight. Think I need to step up the exercising. If I just ate their food (I tend to have a free day or 2) and exercise daily I bet I could do it. Don't know why I have such a problem...Dang!
Good luck to you all on the program. I, personally like all the food I choose. I try to choose those with little or no soy.
Take care-

Hmm....I'm stuck on 7.5 lbs. I get so annoyed. My husband does the plan for like, a minute and loses 5.2 lbs. I've been at it for 2 weeks now, and I have not been cheating nearly as much as him!
I can DO this! Patience......
Love and prayers, Deb

I started dieting on May 10th. and it's been 4 months now. I just count the calories, and am eating a lot of the Lean Cuising meals, with some of my own lo-cal things thrown in. I didn't go the Nutra System or Jenny Craig route because I don't want to have to purchase a lot of foods I really don't like. I cheat once a week and go out to eat, but am careful about what I order. I'm a comfort eater, and this has been REALLY hard, but I've stuck with it. I have a bad leg, and can't exercise a lot, so the calorie part is really important to me. I'm also on tamoxifen. I just hit 30 pounds today, and have about 15 more pounds to lose. Health wise, I feel so much better. Sure hope I don't blow this.

CaliforniaKate, that is fantastic! Way to go on the 30 pound mark!
I just hit the 9.5 pound mark today, and can feel the difference in my jeans. I am mad at myself, because if I hadn't gained 10 pounds since moving here, I'd be all the more skinnier with this 9.5 pound loss. Well, it's exciting nonetheless.
I'm going to finish out my remaining 5 weeks of nutrisystem and hopefully hit my goal of 20 pounds lost (this is the middle of week 3 for me). Once I hit that, I am going back to normal foods.
I really hate the nutrisystem dinners. Bleech! It's so much like being on chemo where you look at the food before you and say, "do I have to eat this?!?"
Love and prayers, Deb -
I am thinking about doing the Nutrisystem as well. I have gained about 25 pounds and have 2 more chemo treatments to go. How much do you girls work while eating Nurtisystem?
-
I am a 3 yr. breast cancer overcomer and I have been searching the web on soy and breast cancer. I came across Gary Null and he is saying pure soy is good. I ordered Nutrisystem from QVC and I am going for it . I am going to ask God to remove all the bad from my food. I need to lose 100 lbs.
after Chemo. I need the prepared food. WW is not for me, I hate the meetings every week and then you have to buy the food and prepare it. 2008 is my year to lose this weight.
Help!!!!!!!
-
Oh, ladies......I totally got stuck on the 7.5 pound mark with the Nutrisystem and then COULDN'T DO IT anymore.
Bleech!
I actually went back to Jenny Craig. I was totally successful with it a few years back, but moved away in the middle of my weight loss.
Then of course, I had a baby, became a housewife who ate when bored, lost on the chemo diet, then gained a whole new butt when my Dad died in November.I gotta get rid of it. NO MORE!
Good luck to my future skinny sisters! Love and prayers, Deb -
yay! 2 pounds lost on the first day!
Today is stressful, I'm trying hard not to blow it.
JC is too expensive to cheat!!!! -
YEAH! Good for you on the 2 lbs! Yes, JC is way too expensive to cheat. I started again around Thanksgiving and have lost about 5 lbs -put a bit back on during Christmas. Last week's bill was $80 and that didn't include my yogurt or veggies!

Nickig; I need to loose weight and was really interested in the Nutri system plan until I thought about the soy that might possibly be in their food. Just fooling around on the computer and happend to find this sight. What did you Dr. tell you about the plan? It will take a while for me to check with my Dr. and I just wanted some feed back now; if possible. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 yrs. ago; And yes it was estrogen positive. Can you give me any feed back on this, please???
Thank you ,
Leeblb

I am a Nutri system drop out (I did lose 30 lbs on it, however).
Leeblb, the food does contain lots of soy. When you read the ingredient list, you will see that soy, anchovy-sardine-tilapia oil and beans are in everything. I was OK with the soy as I am ER/PR negative (my oncologist said OK, too).
The problem was the bleech! flavor factor. A lot of the foods are inedible (I thinking of the god-awful Italian offering - eat only if you think Pizza Hut, Olive Garden or Fazio's make good Italian food). Most are bland. The photographs in the ads are very misleading; portions given are very small.
The NutriSystem people have though of about 50 different ways to package beef soup and chicken soup by changing the name and description, but the stuff is basically variations on a theme.
The positive side is it is a very easy diet to follow and you definitely will not be tempted to overeat most of their foods (the mushroom risotto is the exception to my comments about the Italian food and bleech! factor. I could definitely go overboard on that).
