Robbin...
Fabulous to see you here. BTW, Spa gals, Robbin started the January 2007 chemo thread that I belonged to all last spring...very nice group!!!
Robbin, we're a group of women who are done with chemo and working on getting our health & beauty back (yes, we are a bit vain!!), but we're all very proactive and positive. We've got about seven members total...Raye, who lives down south in Ohio, Mary, Dottie, Casey, Carol, Puppy, Belindajo who we haven't heard from in a long time. We're small but we're close and it's very easy to stay up-to-date with everybody...if you read back just a little bit you'll see.
Gotta get going to art class. When I have a chance I'll send you links to our pages..where we keep photos and our body stats, and our goals for spring....!!!
Nice to see you!

Hey everyone, guess who got a laptop?
ME!Love Ya, will be back in the morning, took me a very long
time, getting this wonderful gift to work!
XOXOXO Puppy

Hi Mizsissy. I read where you mentioned this thread in a post on another forum and noticed it as I was browsing this morning. It seems like some very nice ladies here and I could lose 10 lbs. I've been out of treatment awhile now except for the Tamoxifen. I've read this support board off and on since early fall but just decided to register a couple of weeks ago when I felt comfortable enough to post. Your picture shows you to be a lovely lady yourself so whatever you're doing it must be right. I'm not sure I want to join quite yet but I wouldn't mind reading along and perhaps posting sometimes until I make the commitment for the weight loss and exercise regimen.

Hi Dawn,
Welcome...we'd love to have you. Now I've got two girls to sign up and get going on body stats, exercise, and goals. BTW, we're also into hair & skin!! I'll try and do this later today.
Puppy...wonderful to see you!!! What a glorious morning we're having. Right now I am looking out over a beautiful winter wonderland, tall pines covered with snow, everything quiet & beautiful Got about a foot of snow last night with another 6 inches expected. Church was called off (for the first time in living memory) so we've got the day to ourselves. We're planning on going skiing later. Erik will probably get a liberal leave day tomorrow (the gov't allows you to take an un-pre-approved vacation day when the roads are too dangerous to drive).
As far as I'm concerned, this is our First Day of Christmas...got the tree up yesterday and we finished our Christmas project...
Merry Christmas everybody...this is the view from my room...
xxxooo Mizsissy

Mizsissy, I don't think I am ready to make that commitment yet, as I stated in my post. I think you must be confused, I know I am.

Dawn...
You are welcome to join in and be a part of things...no need to make any commitments until you're ready.
If you'd like to sign in and set some weight goals, etc., just PM me your
email.
How long have you been out of chemo?
Mizsissy

Hi everybody:
I'm checking in while trying to work on my Christmas cards and wrap packages that need to go in the mail. Needless to say, I'm behind the power curve but that is usually typical for me this time of year. Finished decorating the living room today and I have a few things I want to pick up to put on the finishing touches.
Hope all is well with everyone and that you're enjoying your snowy weather Mizsissy!!!! We're cooling down to 42 degrees tonight here in SW FL!
Take care,
Cathy
-
Mizsissy, thank you and I'll give it some thought. I ended chemo in Sept. 06.

OK folks, Dawnran was an imposter so we should ignore her comments. I just got notified by the moderators.
Nice to hear from you Cathy...I'm working on Christmas cards too. Last year I was between surgeries and I got have way through my list and quit!!! Snow is great, thick & beautiful today. Sorry you're so cool down south, what good is the cold without SNOW?
BTW, heard from Puppy this AM. She's having problems with the laptop. It's got Microsoft Vista and Vista doesn't like Google and she's having problems logging on...we're hoping she works these out.

Hello Ladies!
My hubbie is in town, my hubbie is in town!
Puppy,
Glad to see you're on line. Welcome back!
Mizzy,
I loved the winter wonderland! We had a few inches of snow yesterday but the sun came out and melted most of it today.
Cathy,
Glad to read that you are almost finished with the Christmas prep.
Barry and I have not decided where we are spending Christmas and so have not decorated at all.
I am finally over my cold and starting to work out a little.
Life is otherwise pleasantly uneventful.
Take care.

Hi Everyone!
Casey, glad you've got your hubby back! There were a few years when I only saw mine on weekends, and that is hard and lonely.
Mizsissy, what a beautiful picture. In Louisiana it is very cold. My kids are hoping for a White Christmas, but I am sure they'll be disappointed! Again! It snows about every 10 years here.
Puppy, congrats on your laptop!
I am way behind on holiday stuff except for shopping. (Thanks to the internet!) I will need to get it in gear this week! I did sports circuit last night. Still love it. My doctor has ordered a chest xray for when I see him in March, so now that my ovarian cancer test came back clear, I can worry about that dry cough I've been having. I swear, I am my own worst enemy!
Anyway, now that it's so cold, I have not been working out except for sports circuit. I need to find an activity to do on weekends that doesn't involve shivering.
Raye, I saw an article about a breakthrough in triple negs. Did you see it? If not, I'll try to post a link.
Oh! I went to work without the wig yesterday. Glad to be rid of it, but I'm still self-conscious about the thinness of my hair. Sigh.
Mary

Casey, YEAAA!!! So happy your hubby is home!
Mary, we are going to pray that exray be just fine! Where in the world is Our Mizsissy?? Hmmm last time I talked with Her, She and Erick were going to enjoy the snow and go play. she has a package on the way!
Shhhhhhh dont tell Her!
Raye, missing You,maybe we need to start a funny
to get us moving on excersizing!
talk to all of You later, take care.

Good morning ladies, so nice to see everybody here!!! I overslept...we did get awfully tired skiing.
Puppy, it's so nice to see you on line and hear all the good news!!! specially bout that PKG!!! (Hey guys, maybe we'll get to see a picture of Puppy, finally!!!)
I have been thinking about Carol. She was supposed to have a procedure done on the 17th that would eliminate those awful bags...well Carol, how did it go?!! Hope everything is OK now!!
Casey, so glad that your hubby is home, you must miss him terribly!!!
Mary, don't feel bad about being behind on Christmas. I've done just about zero except work on Christmas card messages which are still on the computer. DH & I decided not to give each other much this year because we overspent on travel. The tree is up but undecorated. Oi vay!!! We found out that we're getting company for Christmas over the weekend so we spent a good part of yesterday moving beds out of the basement into the guestrooms (which I had taken over with sewing & art). Anyway, Mary, show us your hair...don't worry, Puppy will help.
Dottie, what's going with you? Hey Robbin...where are you?
Well, gotta go get the house cleaned & decorated...it's kind of nice having a day to myself....

Raye,
Here is a link to the triple neg research. There is a clinical trial underway right now that is described at the very end of the article.

Good afternoon Spa gals....
Just heard from Carol; she's a bit depressed about her current physical state. She has gotten rid of one bag, the foley bag, but she is going to need corrective surgery to get rid of the other bag. Her next appointment is on the 28th...Carol, we're sorry you have to go through Christmas this way and are hoping that everything gets straightened out around New Year's. Are you seeing the same surgeon?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUPPY...today is Puppy's birthday and I had a nice talk with her on the phone this morning. But right while we were talking her little dog Jake had a seizure!!! It only lasted about 2 minutes and he was sleeping peacefully last I heard. Puppy...hope the rest of your birthday is a little more peaceful!!!
We're getting all set for YOU!!!
Mizsissy
-
Hi ladies, I've been absent ... sorry.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUPPY!! Hope you had a great day and also hope that Jake is okay ... Also hope your new laptop is running smoothly.
Carol -- we are all praying for you and sending good vibes to lift your spirits.
Casey ... we could see you grinning about your hubby's return ... you will probably be distracted for a few days, eh? ... please do tell what you're up to, and what you are doing for Christmas...
Mary -- that's quite an article on triple neg -- too many big words for me to understand.... maybe too late at night to read it... I should be snoring by now...
I just finished my free Curves trial (3x per week for 3 weeks) and I gained a pound... rats... then I watched the biggest loser finale -- good lord those people lost a bunch of weight... incredible! I'm inspired, but not motivated the past couple weeks because too much sweet stuff at the office. And my very overweight BIL is hosting Christmas day dinner with tons of snacks before and after... I know my will power will be nil... he's such a good cook
Are you all ready for Santa? I'm not, but I never am... it will be right down to the wire, as usual... My inlaws come on Friday for six days... love em dearly but I'll be stir crazy... hope everyone is WELL! Happy Ho Ho!Dottie

Thank You so much for my b-day wishes!

Happy Birthday Puppy!!!!
I hope your puppy is doing well.
Carol,
You are in my prayers. Easier said than done but please don't despair.
Mary,
Good for you going 'au natural'. I have no doubt that you looked beautiful.
Since the curl and demise of my own thinner hair I have noticed that there are many women who just have thin hair. We at least have thin hair because of a hard fought and won battle.
Your link was very interesting. I agree with Dottie that there were some big words. Happily my brother has bumfoozled me for years with those big CA words so I could actually understand this thing. Ack!
Dottie,
Those 'Biggest Looser' folks are inspirational. I had been riding my trainer while watching on Tuesday night but my guy was in town.....
Actually he is gone already. Poof. He is obsessed with catching a blue fin tuna. No luck today and he may just take tomorrow off. My mother-in-law is coming to town tomorrow. We'll drive down to the beach together. So much for studying spanish on the way down (Lo siento. No enteindo. Hablo un poco de Espaniol.). Seriously, I like my MIL very much and we will have a nice time with her.
Last night I went to a friend's house for a holiday get together. She made these amazing brownies and I took two home with me. This morning I get to work and there is a message taped to my phone that says, "Catherine wants to know how the brownies went with your coffee this morning."
She knows me too well.
I am taking my bike to the beach and plan on getting in a couple of longer rides to get back on track. I am already making a new year's resolution to lift weights.
In case I don't have any web service when I get to the beach....
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FELIZ NAVIDAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You ladies rock!!!!

DO NOT USE NICE 'N EASY GRAY COVER without testing it first. I bought Light Brown and it turned by hair BLACK!!!
Now after 4 shampoos, and 3 treatments it still isn't any lighter. However, I'm trying some plain peroxide mixed with shampoo...and am now waiting for results!!
Good Morning girls. I have a special surprise for you
a picture of PUPPY
(BTW, Puppy's new technique for posting pictures is send them to Mizsissy via snail mail, and then Mizsissy scans them and posts them).

Puppy & Ed on their wedding day. Puppy, wasn't this taken about 1993?
More later...this stuff is making my head itchy!!

HELP with my hair
This is very discour aging. After two treatments of peroxide my hair still isn't lighter!!!!
It's been on a half hour and I don't see any difference. Maybe the peroxide is old? It's a big old bottle I've had for a long time but it says "stabilized formula."Mizsissy

Hi everybody:
Yes, I've been busy with preparations for the holiday but things are slowing down a bit. I'm attaching a photo that I wanted to use for a Christmas card and since I don't have everyone's address, I'll post it here.
Happy Holidays to all my bc sisters - May you be blessed with peace, joy, happiness and health in the year to come! I love you guys! Cathy

To all a Merry Christmas and to all a Good Night...
I just wanted to share with you a lovely Christmas card I got from an old friend in Vermont...old in the sense that she's known me since I was a little girl and old in the sense that she is old, 85 years old, and she remembers things about me and my family that I don't remember, and that no one in my family ever told me.

This is a farm not too far from where I lived when I was a little girl. Vermont as my father knew it and my grandfather is now very much a different place. The little town we came from is now just more a less a strip on a very busy highway. But there are still lots of towns in Vermont that are more or less unspoiled, and homes and farms that are still this beautiful.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas, and if you don't celebrate it, a wonderful holiday time and New Year. I am especially happy this year, because I feel that I have gained so much in friendships with you women--Raye, Casey, Thomcat, Robbin Jaye, Dottie, Carol, Mary, and Puppy, who became the real sister that I always wanted but never had. I've made some wonderful friends here and my life is so much richer now than it was before.
Happy holidays!!!
Mizsissy
