~ Mind ~
Mind is the master planner that molds and makes
And man is mind and forever more he takes,
The tools of thought and shaping what he wills
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills
He thinks in secret and it comes to pass
His environment is but his looking glass!!!

A poem someone sent me.
If you days were untrouble and my heart always light,
would I seek that fair land where there is no night?
If I ever grew weary with the weight of my loar,
would I search for God's peace at the end of the road?
If I never knew sickness and never felt pain,
would I search for a hand to help and sustain?
If i walked without sorrow and lived without loss,
would my soul seek solace at the foot of the cross?
If all I desire was mine day by dat,
would I kneel before God and earnestly pray?
If God sent no winter to freeze me with fear,
would I yearn for the warmth of spring every year?
I ask myself these questions and the answer is plain,
If my life were pleasure and I never knew pain..
I'd seek God less often and need Him much less,
For God is sought more often in times of distress.
And no one know God or sees him as plain,
As those who have met him on the pathway of pain.

Hugs to all who post daily--I'm sure I'm not the only one who reads these each day. Question???? and asking help from
you--one of the charity functions I do is make tray cards to put on the meal trays at our little local hospital. My contribution is very basic--themed stickers on coordinating colored paper--with Get Well, SOON! and Have a Happy Day, etc!! I'm looking to expand my vocabulary beyond "Get Well" Have searched and searched the internet for BRIEF inspirational sayings. Have come up with a few. It is difficult because I must be really generic--like no Merry Christmas----has to be Happy Holidays! The tray cards are the size of business cards, or can be slightly larger--not much room on the trays--so narratives must be minimal--and, would want to quote the source--making the quote even briefer. And, card must be decorated with a themed sticker--just to make it pretty! What I do is cut a lot of construction paper sheets so they fold into the size of a business card. I've been buying stickers everywhere I can find something that will apply. Then I type up a phrase on the computer; print it off on contrasting construction paper, pretty everything up with fiskars scissors, glue the Get Well and put on the stickers.......and, some are pretty neat, and some are so like grade school!!!
SOOOO--picking your brains--chemo-fogged or not, BEST brains in this whole wide world!! Can y'all think of any words other than--"Get Well Soon" "Have a Happy Day" That's the kind of wording I've been using--and, I'd like to kick it up a notch!!!
Please PM me with your ideas and suggestions--I am not trying to compete with some older volunteers who have done this for about 1,000 years, but they will NOT share ideas/phrases with me...no problem--been a newbie in the worst sense, though none of these old gals know that--so, I can certainly be a newbie in the volunteer arena.
If anyone can help me out--if you can understand what help I'm asking for--much, much appreciation!!!

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
