CA which mets to my bones have gone to my brain
I need your prayers. I just found out on Thursday and can only minimally talk about it. I had really believed that I would beat this thing. When it got to my bones I thought I can treat it like a chronic ailment. But I don't know who to handle the brain mets. Med Onc. says it's treatable with radiation. I see Rad Onc. tomorrow. I feel like every year a shoe drops. First it was IBC the 7 months of being teased w/ NED, then both my femurs had to have rod inserted because if the cancer, they were in danger of fracturing. Now the shoe dropped again and I have mets to the brain. I think I am losing the battle and the war.

I will keep you in my prayers. In the news this morning they said Avastin had been found to be effective in reducing the size and growth of brain tumors. There is always hope. -
Sunshine,
There are so many treatments available to you! Don't give up hope. Check out the recurrence/mets forum on this board - there's lots of great advice and support. Positive thoughts and prayers from another mets sister.

Dear Stacey
This is Susie's sister, Arlette (aka stinkie sissie) I just happened to be coming in the door of Susie's house and saw a look on her face that made me ask her what's wrong. She read your letter to me. Needless to say, we are both praying hard for you and feeling your news like a kick in the stomach. Platitudes are not what you need right now. No one can say with any certainty that everything is going to be fine. What is true, is that each time we are hit with devastating news, we are temporarily flung into a state of reeling, raging, crying, or all three. Then, more often than not, we dust ourselves off and do what we have to do to put one foot in front of the other and deal with what we've been handed. We don't have much choice. People look on and say "you're so strong"- but the truth is it's the only reasonable option. Stacey, I believe that no one has a right to put time limits on your life or your future. Basically, nothing is over until you and God say so. We do what we can, but none of it is really in our hands. If you think about it, the only difference between a week ago and today is something the doctor told you and your beliefs about that news. You are actually the same person you were before you got the news.
We are thinking of you, praying for you and pulling for you- wishing you the strength to get through this and sending much love.
Arlette and Susie -
Stacey, I sent a PM. Please know how much I am praying for you and if you need something, call me.
-
Stacey, I don't know you but am praying for you too. I am sorry you have gotten this devastating news, I can not imagine how you feel. But the treatments are advancing every day and I have read so many inspiring stories from other women with mets on this forum. I will keep you in my prayers. Carol

I am so sorry to hear of your latest battle. Cancer truly "sucks". You have always been such an inspiration to me. When I first logged on in early 2002 you were one of the first to respond to me. I remember seeing you on the Morning Show with Marci Beth. You lifted me up when I needed it and now I will think only good thoughts of you. You have shown such courage in the past and I am sure you are facing this latest dx with your true fighting spirit. Please know that my candles are lit and my prayers are coming your way. God's speed to you and your family.
Kathy -

you have had more then your share of cancer. I don't know you but I am sad to read that you have to deal with cancer again.
Treatments have improved a lot in the past year. Maybe you might consider having someone research clinical trials for you.
I wish you peace in this new journey.
But most of all I wish you a complete recovery. Beat that ugly cancer again! -
