and mine needs some healing...today is finally here when I go to the cardiologist to find out what's wrong and what can be done. All the tests are done and results should be in. I am anxious about this news because my treatment for the cancer has been put on hold for almost 2 months (hoping those nasty cells were killing each other off in the interim; kinda slaying the dragon with the rest of the Taxol that was in my system!). I am putting my faith and trust in the Lord, of course. Could use some voices added to mine in prayer....thank you all, humbly and sincerely.

    ((jan))

    wish I could hug you
    in person

    holding you close in prayer
    and hoping with all my might
    that the drugs
    have not caused any permanent damage~~

    when i am scared
    i say this prayer
    and feel some comfort
    The light of God surrounds me;
    The love of God enfolds me;
    The power of God protects me;
    The presence of God watches over me.
    Wherever I am, God is.

    prayer for protection - james dillet freeman - 1941

    holding you close to my heart
    and prayers

    Okay, Good news...and some not so good news....my heart valves work fine; my arterial blood flow is good; my heart muscle is good....but I have a big heart LOL guess it shows up on tests LOL seriously though...my heart is enlarged and it is interrupting the circuitry somewhat...either I was born with it or it got this way from chemo as I said...chances are I wasn't born this way because I had a heart scan (MUGA) back in 1998 before chemo which was a requirement then due to at least one of the drugs...I think I would have been told if there was anything wrong...anyway, whatever the cause, the effect is erractic heart rate that could be regulated by meds but they have side effects and he doesn't want to go that route due to the cancer....so, for now we wait and watch...and I do some conditioning as in walking, watching what I eat and staying away from caffeine (which I do), decongestants, Chinese foods and other things that can cause my heart to beat erractically....no major chance of heart attack at this stage....and that's another good thing.....soooooooooo all in all it was a good appointment...he is going to call my oncologist and give his diagnosis/suggestions before I see her next week to map out a cancer strategy. And of course, closer monitoring than had been done for the past 8 years! So, all in all it was a good appointment...and I can hardly express my thanks for the prayers...words just don't cut it...and I won't try......

    Dear Jan,

    one of my Mother's sisters had a "big heart" for 14 years. she had some medications but her QOL was good. she was active, being occupied with agricultural life, coltivating tomatoes and oranges. she passed away on 1998 for unrelated reasons. glad that heart valves work fine, arterial blood flow and heart muscle are good. that's very encouraging. and a healthy nutrition will improve all this. i like chinese food, it was tasty and cheap when i was a student in Rome, but it's too expensive here in Greece, thank God! But chinese food can offer you the :macrobiotic" diet that is so healthy and tasty. you are in our prayers and thoughts.....

    Hello all of you wonderful prayer warriors...thank you for keeping me in your heart and prayers these past few weeks. I had my appointment with oncologist Friday. She never heard from the cardiologist so I filled her in on that status. The end result of the appointment is that I will be having blood work including tumor markers next week. Been having lots more pain and range of motion limitations she feels is due to being 2 months out from any treatment or bone strengtheners. I will be starting on Xeloda if all goes well starting at a minimal dose (2000mg day) to avoid major side effects. I will also be having Zometa again at some point in the near future. She scheduled me for a physical therapist to check on the underarm lymphedema (opposite side from surgery in 1998). Her main concern, and mine also, is the lack of tolerance to pain meds...but for now nothing much is being done other than Lidoderm patches and Aleve or Ibuprofen. The bigger guns make me sick. I will reserve those for when I truly can't tolerate it. This has been a very tough 2 months...tougher than initial diagnosis or recurrence diagnosis. But I am on the other side of all that thanks to God's grace. I know not what lies ahead but have peace that the journey will be interesting. I know my final destination so anything between this moment and then is an adventure in life. Now, I humbly stand before Him and ask His blessings on each and every one of you. Not for what you have done for me...but because of who He is...and who you are.
