Shel38...I am jealous about Mexican Town...I have always wanted to eat there! Be careful about the walking...I am not sure of the safety of the route. I love the quarter ribbons!

Irene...I was referring to being up there on stage to give the crazy jacket. I will go up there...with you? Your purple cast will probably help us get the spot!

Kats...please be careful driing in today.

Looking forward to all of this. I am hoping to met Nancy at the expo today too.

Now it looks like I have to go and wash my tennies! Those are really cute shel. No, no dance at the finish line from me! Maybe a hobble.

Irene - shoot about the cast. Well, that will keep you off of it - no cheating. Ok everyone, look for the purple cast and you will find us.

Chris, I thought you wanted to be the most anonymous but if you want to brave giving Kim the jacket, that would be great! I sent you email and I hope I caught you in time and you are still around a computer.

I think I missed Kats for one more memorial sign. My friend's email bounced back from her. Hope Kats has a safe trip in.

I'd be nervous about walking from Mexico town to other parts of town. Greektown and Mexico town are safe but the streets in between I'm not sure about. Be careful shel! Do you have any pepper spray? I guess I talked out the wazoo about growing up in a high crime neighborhood so I'm much more cautious than some.

Michelle, I'll look for the cell phone list and email it to you. Funny thing is I haven't printed anything off myself yet.

Lilia - glad to see you checking in, hope you follow this.

Pat - You are part of our group to us. Of course you have to be with your family, we understand that.

    Tomorrow is the day!

Holy crap, I just heard 75 is going to be closed starting at 9:00 tonight. I think they said south bound between 696 and 8 mile, but I could be wrong. North bound also, but I think a different location. Do they not realize that thousands of people will be going down to Detroit tomorrow???? What is wrong with these people?

I have to get ready for work, but when I get in I'll check the MDOT site and see if they have the details. Details like how the heck to get to Detroit without using 75.

Ok, I thought I heard that also and I came online to get a map to see where they meant! Now what is plan B??? How do you get into Detroit without getting on 75? I'll call my friend Carol whose DH goes downtown alot and see what he says!

Take Woodward or the Southfield in from the north. You can get to 96 and then take that into the city. Those coming from the west side...just take Van Dyke south or 94.

Still have that offer out to pick someone up on the way. I am coming form Oxford and will probably take Wodoward into the city if 75 is closed.

Oh...I was thinking about lunch afterwards. I would rather not go to any place to upscale as I will be wearing my race clothes!

Lot of stuff on there though.

Chris - what time are you going in to the race? I'm planning on meeting kats in Dearborn at 6:15 a.m. I'll talk to you later.

Mary - hope you got my email! thank you so much! My friend Barb is a sweetheart and a 5 year survivor. Carol is 7 years! They don't come online here.

If I do not get the bc.org banner and t-shirts this afternoon, it will be too late. If I get it tomorrow or something, we will just have to plan another get together!

Well, I was trying to find a bright side to 75 being closed and I found one!

Whenever I or my husband have driven to Detroit, we can never find the entrance to 75 to get out of the city. I think it's because they always direct you out of the parking garages a different way than when you went in. Anyway, this time I won't even have to bother looking for 75 and getting all frustrated when I can't find it.

Was there a picture up? I missed it. You better resize it and get it back up there.

I always thought it was the one way streets that screwed up finding the highways out of Detroit. Good your looking at the bright side.

Chris and I got some good pics of the band today. The pre-race expo was in a smaller room than I expected. I was very happy to have her company today and she WANTS to be our spokeswoman for live TV!! She is so poised, she can pull it off.

Get some good sleep tonight everyone. We will have to be up bright and early. So, see you tomorrow.

    Hi,

The picture was the one she posted of the shoe with the quarters.

Good to know Chris will be our spokeswoman!

See you in the morning. Off to bed...

You are not going to believe this! My neighbor just called me and said they noticed two big boxes leaning against another neighbor's door. Since they aren't home, they went to put them away for them. Well, she noticed my name on the package and called me.

Our bc.org t-shirts and banner are in. Now I just need to figure out a way to bring them tomorrow! Yeehah!!

I went from Roch. Hills to Royal Oak this evening & back (Al Gore's movie). NB was still open when I came back from 11 MIle to Square Lake. SB was backed up & crawling from about 16 Mile (Big Beaver). I'm going to take Woodward even though it is extremely annoying especially through Highland Park because all the lights are mistimed.
Irene thank you for the trolley number. I called & there must be room for me, but I still may totally dope myself up & try to walk a mile with a cane.

Did anyone see Kats' granddaughter at the end of Fox 2's 6:00 broadcast? They focused in on her back and you can see the bandana and then they zoomed in on the sticker on her back! So BC.org (and Grandma) got some airtime after all.

Kats - If you would like a copy, I taped it. I'd be happy to send a copy if you'll PM or email me your address.

What a GREAT guy! Thank you so much, Shel. I will put mine in the email tonight. Today, I have to find a home for 400+ bales of hay, or my guys are going to starve this winter. Give your daughter a hug from me. I hope she had a wonderful time at camp, and I hope even harder that she can walk with us next year.

I had so much fun--I can't believe it's over. We have GOT to do this again, before next June! How's about sometime just before Halloween? That way we'll avoid the holiday crush. Or, Maybe, Valentine's Day?

I had a great time as well. We saw my husband's back (okay hair) on tv and we had a good laugh. I taped 4 11:00 p.m. so I will take a look at it today to see Mary's grand daughter.

My husband couldn't stop talking about it yesterday...he said he has a much better understanding of bc and survivors. He could not get over how many survivors there are and stated that everyone should go to an event like this to understand bc. He also was quite impressed with our group!

Can't wait for next year. Lets shoot for a team that includes 25 survivors!

I have a bunch of pictures and I will forward them in the next few days. You ladies rock!

I'm so envious of you guys..... I soooo wanted to go and I wouldn't let my eyes leave channel 4 news in the a.m. and I didn't spot anyone..... No Kim Adams, no tye-dyed bandanas..... I was quite sad as I had hoped to see you guys on the news.....

I will definately be there next year, so count me in......

I'm glad you all had a great time down there......

    Hugs.....

Well, everyone was up early this morning.

Candi - We missed you....you'd better make it next year.

Kim Adams had a family emergency and wasn't there. So Robbie Simmons was kind enough to let us take her photo in it. And wait till you see the photo of Not Me in it!

Did you all see the interview with the police chief? We were standing to the side of them. I knew we should've all got behind her and waved....we would've gotten lots of air time!

I took a ton of photos and will be forwarding them to shel38. In the meantime, if anyone wants a copy of the digital album I made let me know. For those who are really into digital photography, there's a program called Flip Album which makes it real easy to make and share digital photos albums. If you're interested, the web site is www.flipalbum.com.

Not Me - It's moving to hear your DH was so moved by it all. When you think that there were 30,000 people there yesterday and that was just a small fraction of the people in one Metro area who have been affected in some way, shape or form by this disease, it's pretty mind boggling.

I have to say I did pretty well emotionally all day until I saw the Grandma sticker on Kats' GD's back on the news. They really zoomed in on it and held it for a few seconds, and I lost it.

Well, I'm off to get some weeding done before the sun hits the front of the house. Have a great day everybody!

Yesterday was so inspiring. It was so great to meet you all. Irene, I'm so amazed still by the fact that you were there and walking from place to place while draging a cast around! Nancy, you ARE my inspiration even if you don't like to hear people say that. Fancy, hearing about your horses was wonderful! Let's get together again soon.
