Good Morning all

I hope today rings a good day for all with all good news. Well the weather is still fighting us but it will be over soon. And if u have to go out please make sure u'r warm and safely watching the roads--there are a lot of kooks who drive like kooks. Just let them go around you .I'm up way to early??? so I know I'll be tired today and nap too. Damn I waste the day away--but I have to sleep with the phone right by my ear so I don't miss any phone calls and sound wide awake. I'm getting good at that.

Chiming in late but VERY happy to hear your news Tim.  It is strange  to hear you have a "good" slow-growing cancer which makes it quite treatable......and there are a few of those, like Papillary, but despite that.....oh how nice to not have ANY cancer.  Still it is a part of those who are here and so we have to do the best we can 'especially' in the conquering our fears department, and move on with hope and dignity.  Big hugs and lots of love for getting a quick handle on this.  Yay for you.

Thanks lady but I actually HAD a fast growing cancer, grade 3.  How lucky was I to find a surgeon who would remove it quickly!  I know I'm not totally out of the woods, are we ever when we have/had cancer?  But what a relief it was to hear that it was contained within the uterus.  Who knows what would have happened  had I politely waited?  Thank God for modern medicine!

I just realized why you might be confused..it IS confusing.  U of C thought I had a different kind of cancer.  A rare and much more dangerous kind that even when caught early, may have spread.  Pathologists...they disagree.  And their decisions are life and death.  Weird, we never see them but our lives are in their hands.

Hmmm, yes I did get that wrong Tim....but remain just as glad that it sounds like it was so highly fixable.  Still a big relief I know.

I'm on another site, for uterine cancer.  They have an onco nurse advising.  She says that there is estrogen in shampoos.  And then beef that has been given hormones, among other things.  She suggested going to a site called "Skin deep".  It lists the safety of various cosmetics and soaps and shampoos.  Has anyone else ever heard of this?  She said that placenta is made used in making some shampoos.  From now on I'm buying EVERYTHING at Whole Foods!

Yes, I have heard of some of those things Timbuktu.  Also there are lots of antibiotics in beef and chicken which is why we sometimes have reactions and I think some are no longer working well.  Being alive is really a full time job.  I try not to worry, but have also tried to watch what I could as far as meat and chicken.  Glad you put this information here.

Perdue now claims on their site and commercials that their chickens no longer have added hormones or antibiotics and are not fed animal products. Granted they still might feed them GMO {Genetically modified} soy and corn.

I have heard that ALL corn and ALL soy is GMO.  And by the third generation of farm animals fed GMO feed, they are showing signs of ill health, degeneration, infertility, etc.  Can't remember where I read this, because I read too much.  Just ask my MO.

I went to a seminar on chemical-free living.  Avoid all Pthalates, any cosmetic or shampoo or body wash with sodium lauryl sulfate, mineral oil (which is petroleum-based), any Vaseline based products, the list is longer, but I will locate it and post further.  Also, Mariano's in the Chicago area and some Jewel stores have an organic section.  Apparently the Kiss My Face products are OK.  But it is a chore reading all that fine print standing in the aisles...

Interesting about the Purdue chicken.  I have used Tyson for a long time, but I bet it is time to look it up again.  Catch me if I faint. 

The skin deep site if really full of information on a lot of different things and I'm sure well worth spending a fair amt. of time on.  I've never been big on cosmetics much so don't have much for concern there.  More the shampoos and body soaps.  I see from the above I'm likely already in trouble.  I love the Chi products but almost afraid to look them up.  Still, I'll do what I have too. 

Barb---glad you like the quotes.  I have been putting them in here since 2008.  It is a joy for me.  It starts my day, every day.

I know the FDA doesn't screen shampoos, soaps, etc because they're not foods or drugs.  I think that's crazy!

The big surprise for me was the estrogen in these products.  I'm on Arimidex, I just had my ovaries removed, yet I may be ingesting estrogen?  

As for genetically modified foods, a relative of mine works for Whole Foods and he says pretty much everything is genetically modified now. But Whole Foods is so expensive!  

Last summer I took a drive through Wisconsin.  I suddenly had this strange feeling, like I was in the Twilight Zone.  I realized it was the corn.  Every stalk was exactly like every other stalk.  It didn't look natural at all.

I remember yrs. ago my GF's sitting around talking about all these hormonal subjects and so many topical things can have it, like even steroids can be topical---it's the same thing it goes into our pores, like garlick comes out of our pores.
