Just popping in for a quick hi... Still trying to figure out the best way to access this site via IPAD. I had it bookmaked on home page with laptop Wishing you all a good day!

I'm popping in to say hi. My onc has now switched me from a cellulitis diagnosis to a shingles one. This is what I always thought it was; but the symptoms were presenting differently than normal. I am on acyclovir for 7 days and my s/e are a bummer.
I am experiencing a little neuropathy in fingertips, so far, from the Taxol that started 9/26. DH (and me when I am able) are getting the place cleaned up for our dd's wedding in October. The big stuff is done.
Zap...Thanks for posting the link for the Martina McBride song. I got quite emotional and cried through it.
CHMom...hi and welcome. I'm pretty new myself.
NancyJill...glad you got your phone back!
Scrap2book...glad the port was working this time. I hope your work situation can be fixed. Extra stress is not what you need.
Sounds like the Chicago dinner will be fun. Someday I will be able to join you!
-
MaryjRn I'm so sorry about the shingles diagnosis. Be sure you have narcotics/pain killers. Once the blisters start to dry up it gets pretty painful… and I'm one of those gals that took no meds, not even a Tylenol after BMX with nodes on both sides. I really hope you don't get it as bad as I did. I was on the acyclovir for 2 weeks but I don't think it helped me much.
-
CHmom - welcome!
MadMom - (LOL) GREAT PHOTO! 3 generations. You all look adorable!
Logo Lago - Job search...lookin good...will send you an e-mail update. How about you?

Girls - I am so overwhelmed trying to keep up with everyone! I read all the posts...and carry you all in my heart everyday...If I don't respond to each post, please don't think I'm not "here"...have several "things" going on and feel as though I'm treading water to keep up with it all.
Hugs...to all of you..."outta sight" is NOT outta mind! lol

Laura I think I just got some action from recruiters today. we'll talk on Friday.

I know there aren't many Jewish gals here on this thread but you don't have to be Jewish to find this fun. (New year started at Sundown).
-
Love it!

Can't say this has been the best birthday I've had so far in life.
I feel very disconnected.
This has been a very trying week.
-
Thanx robo47.

Lago.....I had that sent to me by some one I really adore. It is great.
Laura....hope things get better for you soon. You sound like such heavy is hanging over your head.
Nana....you do too. I got a box car of happy sunshine, wonderful dreams and marvelous serenity, with a large dash of love and fortitude. I've instructed the sandman to drop some of this in the middle of your heart while you sleep so you will start having a better time of it. BOLO.
Scrapbook and Mary RN.....I think you could use a bit of the same.
and Nana....you still need your cake.
Especially for your birthday. Hope you can connect to this cake.
Happy Birthday and many, many more.

Hugs, Jackie

Just a quick hello to all. I am sorry I can't meet all of you tomorrow at dinner. But I will be there in spirit. Remember to post a pic for us. Hair or no hair your smiling faces is all we want to see. Again thank you Lago for arranging this wonderful event. Hope to see and meet you all at the holiday party.
Sweet dreams to all......remember to be healthy...be happy and enjoy life.

Well, yesterday was a rough one for me.. had to give up and take a pill that instantly put me to sleep.. still sleepy from it.. will probably end up taking a nap in a bit.. otherwise, my numbers were all good.. and I'm off for 2 weeks and off to Boston next Wed.. so starting to plan it finally!! Lago, tips are welcome!!!
Won't make it tomorrow.. have an early Sat commitment.. just me and the baby, so not sure I have it in me to do the trip right now.. Will do my best to be there for the Holiday party though!!

Happy Birthday Nana!
Like Laura, I have people mixed up here as there are now so many. It will al settle in and I will get to know you all.
MRI today....yuck!
Old friends are coming in from Las Vegas this weekend so I will not be at the dinner. They are sure going the wrong way as most people are going to Las Vegas, not from it! Lago, I did have the date wrong and thought dinner was last week. I am excited to see a picture. We have not seen these people in over ten years. They do not even know I had bc. I hate seeing people I have not seen in years, but they are coming in so here we go!
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Thanks everyone.
Zap - I am the one you picked up in Lombard in June for

-
Happy Birthday Nana! Sorry you had a tough day - hope it got better!
Sorry you had a rough day Marina!
Hugs to everyone else! Hope you all have fun at dinner. Sorry I can't make it.
-
Realizing that I will be helping the DS pack and finish moving in to his new place this weekend, and of course, there's a LOT to do. Friday dinner may not work out after all.
Marina - Great to hear that your numbers were all good. Have a fun time in Boston with your DD.
Susan - Good luck with the MRI. Always good to get those things behind you.
Nana, sorry this is late!

-
Nana, of course I remember you! Gluten free---Webers Grill

Connections help me. I saw Mary's post from Elmwood. Not knowing where Elmwood is, I googled it and found that it is the birthplace of Laredo Taft and he has a sculpture there. When I taught we took our kids toi Hyde Park, Chicago for a field trip each year and Laredo Taft has the HUGE sculpture with so much detail, A very knowledgeable docent teacher gives a very complete explanation of this fountain.sculpture and the kids love it
MRI is on one hour. The xanax is working well and I am so relaxed. Two minute before I took the pill I was hyperventilating. DH is taking me....good move on his part...I feel very loopy.
Have fun ladies.

Loopy is good

Mak what kind of recommendations? Boston has changed a lot since I lived there in 2001 but I loved the food at the Dolphin not far from Harvard Square on Massachusetts ave in Cambridge. (walking distance for me anyway). It's a causal place and the food is not a pricey as Legals Seafood.
I highly recommend you walk around Harvard Square and see Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market. Walk around Boston Common up Newbury St.. Lots of great shops and some things to see in Back Bay. Lots of historic stuff if you go on the Freedom Trail. There's also the North End (little Italy). Granted most of the Italians have moved out but the restaurants are still there. Great museums too.My fav being the Egyptian collection at the Museum of Fine Arts.As a kid I loved the children's museam but I don't know how to get there by public transportation.
I could go on.
-
Zap...don't worry about your MRI. It is always scary when we have these routine test. Enjoy your xanax. relax and breath. I have a favor to ask could you send me that Lemoncello pound cake recipe. My gf loves lemoncello and I thought this would be lovely as she is having a hard time right now. I see your friends are leaving LV and I am going to LV . lol Very hot out there now. So looking forward to hot weather.
To all you travel gals hope you have a safe and fun trip. Enjoy!!!!
Dinner gals have fun and remember this is a very chatty group so watch the train times. Or you all we be crashing at Lago's he he. Pics please.
Rene..happy decorating for ds in Chicago. Would love to see apt pics. If you see that black street art work again could you get me one. I just love it.
Laura...no LV for you. have fun at dinner.
Well gotta run..have a wonderful fun filled weekend.
