Just popping in to say hi!
I did 90% of my shopping on-line. Amazon is my new best friend. Almost everything is eligible for free shipping and they are super quick!
What a yucky day out today. Sounds like we are in for quite a storm tonight!
-
I love on-line shopping as well. Have my pajamas on, computer next to me and a nice cup of green tea. Let it storm :-)
-
char - Love the pajamas post...I don't feel AS GUILTY...knowing that someone else is cashing in! lol It was great to meet you person! Now I can put a "face" to your posts. Enjoy your evening!

WOW...LIFE in the forest is tough! Things are melting...but in anticipation of what's brewing....I just distributed 120 lbs of envirofriendly salt on our driveway! My ears are forever frostbitten! lol But the last thing we want is a sheet of ice under a layer of snow. dh, of course, offered to do it, but me, being me...HAD TO DO IT ON MY OWN! lol Fingers crossed...the salt will melt the ice and the upcoming storm won't be so horrible. Another fire is crackling in our fireplace - warm and ROMANTIC! lol Like I said...life in the forest is tough...but until we move to a warm climate, I WOULD NOT HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY! lol ; )
-
Laura, no need for cold ears. I wear my 180's all winter long… and yes they sell them at Amazon too. When I first bought them they didn't have women sizes. Now they do and fit so much better.
180's at Amazon: http://alturl.com/mgabu
180's official site: http://www.180s.com/I wear them right over my scarves.
----------------------------------------
Went to a party last night and had a blast. Today I will be baking cookies. Plan to drop them off tomorrow for the chemo nurses. I know, no eating batter :-(
-
"What I am looking for is not out there, it is in me."
-- Helen Keller -
I have many ear covers...don't need anymore...it's just a matter of wearing them!
-
Well then Laura you have just lost my sympathy ;-)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WENDY!
Two tips on your birthday:
1) Forget the past, you can't change it.

2) Forget the present, I didn't get you one.
(So, sorry!) Except this one... hope it takes you away

Need some bra advice. I'm about a month out of BMX with TEs. Still wearing a zip up front sports bra, which is pretty comfortable but not always practical with my work outfits, it peeks out too much. Any tips on bras that work well, provide a bit less coverage than a sports bra would, with tissue expanders? Of course all my presurgical bras were underwires, which are now out of the question.
Would appreciate tips on where to cute scarves too, while we're on the shopping topic.
Thanks!

To Wendy:

Many,many more please.
Hugs, Jackie

LisaMomOfFour I just wear camosoles. I was given a few "barely there" bras from my PS but I don't see that style online anymore. They were like the training bras I wore when I was 11.
These might work for you:

Happy, happy birthday, Wendy. I do not have any creative graphics, but if I did, I would throw a very huge quilt over that cabana-like thingy JanClare sent and create a fort by the sea for you.
You have been so good to me. You are so deserving of so much so stay off the deck and near a fire and just enjoy!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY! Celebrate! Hugs to you on your special day!

Wendy.... Happy Birthday. I bet you are spending the day watching the snow while snuggled on your coach.
We are spending the day waiting out the storm in Charlotte, NC. It has been a very fun weekend here with our son's wedding. I am thankful that my energy level seemed to be okay as we partied all weekend. Of course, now we are putting up at our feet at the hotel and watching the Bears game on TV..... brrrrrr! I am in no hurry to get back. Maybe tomorrow.
Lisa.. I got some pretty scarves and headcovers from www.headcovers.com and also from www.abonitascarf.com. You might also try www.tlccatalog.org. There are some other sites also that I cannot remember right now. Bras... I pretty much go without a bra most of the time, depending on what I am wearing. I was able to go back to wearing my old bras after a couple fills on my TE's. I like Warner's "Elements of Bliss", no underwire. Don't need underwires with these stiff TE's!
Hope everyone is staying warm. I have a feeling that Soldier Field is going to look pretty empty after half time. They are losing big time anyway.

Happy b-day wendy

LisaMomof Four,
I just wore regular bras with no underwire and bought little pads to fill them out. As I expanded, did not need the pads anymore. You can get mastectomy bras that have pockets for the pads. By me in Palos is a Mary Del Corsitiers (sp?) and I got some at Naturally Yours on 83 in Willowbrook. Both have women trained to deal with mastectomy patients. They should be able to help you at either place.

Speaking of scarves: http://www.anokhiusa.com/ is having 15%-20% off till Christmas. I own several of them. Really nice soft cotton, lovely colors and great price especially with discount and no shipping fees. Naturally Yours also sells those scarves at an even better price. I didn't get them there because I didn't care for the patterns.

I called Carolyn and she was very upbeat...considering that she went through a scary thing. She is in good hands.
