Morning All... Weakly checking in!! See so many posts and wish i could address them all but this Round 4 is definitely the worse one., Vomiting and intestinal distress and really weak. It all is over but this is the part i REALLY want over and to beleive this is just the END!!!

kristi.... I am triple negative and am still learning on it all. We will need to compare our backgrounds as you need to get your surgery done first etc. I actually am glad i do not have the positive nodes as tamoxifin and the herceptin is not what i would personally want , cause i am just so bad with drugs in me!!Can barely do a Tylenol with out  a side affect! The thing is, once your surgery is done, the stage will be more definitive and have more info to work with. Take one step at a time and let the Triple negative part go until you are situated. In time there is a ton of info on this subject but you need to be careful what you read so it is not all negative.  Am finishing my final round of chemo and plan to get more info on this later when healed!

I will be checking in as right now all i can do is rest !!!! For the newcomers here, you are in good hands!!! Good wisdom, support and humor!!!

    Love,

    Donna

Hopefcure. I enjoyed your post.  I am glad you are getting some reliefe from your pain.  I loved the Robin egg story.  Your daughter sounds just like mine,  What will you be doing with the Quail.  We were planning on raising some along with Pheasants this year.  Just to release back into the wild.  But I didnt think I could handle any extra work this year.  The chickens are enough to keep up with.  So glad you told me about the # of plastic to watch for.  I am also a big soda drinker.  Can anyone shed some light there.  Is it really a big no no.  I havent even been drinking my water lately.  Shame on me.  It just tastes so much better.

    Wendy That picture is great!

Had taxtere Tue and I am still doing o.k.  I went to the Race 4 a Cure last night.  It was very nice.  Love to you all.

Morning everyone.....a bit on the gloomy side here but no rain predicted....that's good.  I started on Wednesday -- then interrupted on Thurs. and Fri. ( my work days ) to wash down the siding on my house.  Dh is not going to get to it and it's just awful ( course, I don't have anything going on inside ) so I need to finish that.  I found some mold ( always on North side her ) and that is what started that project.  It's always something.

Jennifer.....I think possibly our worst damages from plastics might come from the microwave cooking.  I don't drink too much out of plastic...other than water bottles, and with coffee we bring our own mugs to fill.  I would have to research it, but I thought those numbers in the triangles on  almost all plastics were mainly indicative of whether or not they could be re-cycled.  The paper I get from our Clean & Green Recycle center talks about finding that number....so you know what to bring in.  This is not to say we don't need to be concerned, but I would probably be most concerned if those Subway containers were heated or microwaved....or any for that matter no matter what the number.  I also don't re-heat my coffee ( in microwave ) if it goes cold.  I pour it out and go get fresh.  I have disliked the flavor/texture change of things re-heated -- even liquids, so I really don't use a microwave much.   Don't use much soda....I keep Diet-Rite sweetened with Splenda for when I want an occasional pop.

This is another thing....big controversies over sugar substitutes....most of the others taste bad to me or in the case of Nutrasweet give me a definite allergic reaction.  My nutritionist friend will not use anything but Stevia.....so I googled that and found  caveats.  I think Susan also spoke about doing "wrong" things with diet.  I think it will come down to moderation in everything and what works for you.  We have made such progress in the last 60 years and yet we are still infants and will find that some of the progress may hurt us ( pesticides, herbicides, plastic contaners  im-proper use of lead, arsenic, amonia's etc ) so sometimes too much knowledge in some ways is just upsetting because their may be so much difficulty or expense trying to alleviate it.....and then five years from now they could say --- oops, we were wrong.  It's not so bad after all.  Was reading the other day about all the natural ( plant based -- but not exact ones ) remedies there are in the rain forests and we get destroying our rain forests. We'd be better served to live in one....but we are going to have to tough it out here.

Too funny about the shorts Wendy.  Hmmm, don't think anything like that has ever happened to me, but somewhere......someone has your shorts.  Some poor man is shaking his head going....this is not the color I wanted....and they are way too short anyway.

Hope you all have a good Saturday.  Big work day for me.

    Hugs,

    Jackie

forgive me....I forgot to say hi and welcome the new ladies.  Glad you are here.  Also, Donna...sure hate hearing the last Chemo is being so bad for you.  Whatever you eat ( if much of anything ) make sure to use the gentle on the tummy white foods.  Potatoes, rice, white bread, banana etc.  This was the only time white bread touched my lips.  Also if you do eat, I think slower helps and nibbling a little here and there so something is in your stomach all the time if possible.  When I had the problem I just pretty much waited it out....but for some reason I could eat jello ( it's mainly water with a good taste ) and did so.

Buddy....glad you are doing well with the Taxotere.  I only had a bad taste ( in my later ones ) and nothing much else but my bones feeling really hard.  Slight bone pain for a little while....anything that was not throwing up I dealt with pretty well and did not feel struggle to it.  I'm thrilled it is going well for you.

Can I say once again w/o anyone wanting to tell me to shut up and sit down.....how amazed  I am with you and Donna.  You really are tough Illinois girls.

    See you all later.

PJuliet - I hope your mom's health improves. I don't think low liver enz's or low wbc's area side effects of Tamoxifen (atleast not in the research I have done). Have you had a Thyroid blood test done? It's very routine... lots of girls with bc seem to have Thyroid probs. More and more info is being written about it somehow being connected to bc. Thyroid probs can cause liver enz's to be low, inadequate iron can also cause it, but there's many other causes as well. As for the low wbc's...again Thyroid probs can cause it and also vitamin deficiencies (and many other things as well). Have you had the flu/virus recently? That can also cause it. Wait to see what your Dr says. If everything checks out to be okay, then you may want to consider taking Echinacea (natural) for about three weeks and it may help raise the liver enz's to a normal level (a f/u blood test can verify if it worked). (But don't take it for than 3 weeks straight.) Not related to the above... but you should get a Vit D blood test done (make sure it's the one for D3). Low levels have been linked to bc and ca.

    ---------------------------------------------

The health expo was awesome! I met a Dr there who is going to help me get off of Tamoxifen (synthetic) and onto a natural alternative. I can't wait to start with him - (he is taking appts sooner than August - which is when I was going to have to wait for with a different Dr)... he's going to help balance my hormone levels - NATURALLY. And then I will start taking DIM or I3C - both are natural alternatives to Tamoxifen in that they block Estrogen from forming tumors. Nothing against traditional Drs, but MOST know nothing about balancing hormones, so I wouldn't even consider relying on my gyn or endo for this. Also... he mentioned, Selenium (small amount) and Iodine (Iodoral?). I might even be able to toss out my bottle of synthetic Thyroid medicine too!

Jennifer - When I read your dd's story - I had to share this:

A few weeks ago there was a baby Fawn sleeping in a grassy section next to our driveway. The next day it was gone... so I assumed the Mom retrieved it. But yesterday afternoon, I saw it again! It was sleeping under plants - a little closer to the house this time. I can't help but wonder if it's been there ever since and I just didn't happen to notice it? I hope it hasn't been abandoned. It's not in a place where a deer would live - especially with a Fawn. I called a nature preserve...they said the mom will come back and feed it and we should just let nature take it's course. It's not injured because dh tried to get close to it and it ran away. I have read though, that if a Fawn is not healthy, the Mama will abandon it. As of this morning, it's not back yet... as far as I can see... it's pouring, so I've been checking on it from inside with binoculars.

This was taken a few weeks ago:

Jennifer and Budder/Everyone - If possible you really should stay away from pop (I know...we all have our vices). An occasional treat, but drinking it regularly - is not a good thing. Soda Pop (or carbonated soft drinks) has an alarming amount of sugar, calories and harmful additives in it that have absolutely no nutritional value (stay away from High Fructose Corn Syrup prods, too). Studies have linked soda to osteoporosis, obesity, heart disease, and tooth decay. Water is best, but you should have your water tested (especially if the pipes in your house are old).

    Here's a link with more info: http://www.oleda.com/oleda_tips/tips.asp?dept=48

Fluoride levels in our water is controversial - elevated levels are not good. And ph balance is important as well as the presence of Lead - (again, especially if the pipes in your house are old). Here's a testing lab in IL:
    http://www.doctorsdata.com/water_test.asp

dh tests our well water regularly and there's NO fluoride in it and the ph balance is perfect along with other levels.... woo-hoo!  Filtering systems work well if you do have unacceptable levels of fluoride or others. If your water tests well, it's a good idea to get a re-usable stainless steel water bottle and fill it with your tap water. (It's less expensive than buying plastic bottles of water, safer AND it's better for the environment.) I just ordered 2 of these... one for me and one for dh - EcoCanteen:

    https://www.ecocanteen.com/ver5/index.asp

As for plastics...everything I've read says to avoid any type of plastic. Aluminum isn't good either. Glass is best.

Wendrew - Yes...niece is having a girl... due July 15th.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Have a nice Saturday - for those of you not feeling very well... hang in there.

And damn it all, I did it again.  I'm behind 18 pages.

I can't keep up with you broads.

Oh boy, staying away from "sugars" etc... If you look at all the labe on the food you purchase, 85% of it contains High Fructose Corn Syrup (even bread crumbs & bread!) instead of sugar.  Glucose isn't too bad, High Fructose Corn syrup kills lab rats fast or mutates them quickly. It has something to do with corn going through tons of processing, chemicals used etc... we are left with high amounts of fructose which is bad bad bad.  The commercials lead us  to believe its completely ok.  Maybe in moderation it is ok, but most of our food has it.  And tons of it.  So we are not getting it in moderation.  We are getting bombarded with it.   Why does the US continue to put this in almost all of our food?!  Because it's cheaper then sugar.

    Sugar is better....

For that matter, butter is better then margarine too.  Margarine is made of oil.  Regular oil isn't too bad.  The body processes it uses some of it and sends it out...  Hydrogenated oil (which has hydrogen molecule added so it doesn't spoil) can't be processed well by the body.  The molecules are too big to pass through our arteries, so they stick to the artery walls.... Eventually causing clogs...

Looks like a few new girls... WELCOME!  You found an excellent source of support here!   I keep seeing people say patti, but I haven't seen her posts (yet)  welcome.

Buddy1 - I'm not sure I'm understanding this 75% thing.  I wasn't told anything like that.  But I would think they have a pretty good idea if they took out 22 nodes and 2 were positive... I don't know.  This is confusing me.

For anyone looking for hospitals or second opinions: I went for my second opinion at University of Chicago they jumped on it right away.  UofC and Mayo clinic use each other to confirm diagnosis es es es.   U of C  has a separate "breast center".  They take the reins and lead really well, explain EVERYTHING and give you COPIES of EVERYTHING.  They "hide" nothing and do everything.  They are also extremely positive and supportive.  They ALWAYS use the word CURE and have plenty of hugs to go around.

LauraGTO, good idea, alternating with mammo & boob mri. -  I tried to look at Paula's site, but everything but the home page was blank for me.  I'll have to look again later.  Maybe a different browser.    Nice Avatar & the baby dear is precious!

Mrsmas  /  So many doctors, so many different ways of attacking the situation.  But when it's aggressive (mine is too) they all do the same.  For example,  ACx4 + Tx4 or TACx6 (which is same drugs, just all 3 at once and 6 doses of each opposed to 4 - which is what I had), the letters stand for the drug & the number is the amount of infusions.

My surgeon had me scanned up and down after surgery.  Then I had chemo.  Some doctors have you do chemo first.   But both ways work.  I guess it depends on the situation & the doctor preference.

Rita, you are such the traveler!  I aspire to that.

Ginny, hang on their chicky.  I'm routing for you & admire your incredible strength.

Christi73 - I don't live too far from you.  Maybe 30 minutes.... (spring grove / fox lake)    I went to U of C  (it's worth it to send samples to them and make the trip!  They might also have newer options.  Not in my case, but you never know.)  I was staged after surgery & after a bunch of scans I had while I still had a drain tube.  From there, went to chemo. If you tell them at UofC you come a great distance, they will schedule as much as they can in the same day for you, causing less trips through rush hour. HANG IN THERE.  You will get through this & everyone here will help.

Morning All!  Sun's out, sun's out!  YAY!!!!

And....a VERY BIG "Happy Birthdfay" to Mary Jane!  Hope it is a great one!

It's Flag Day so display those stars and stripes!

Juliet....I am so sorry your Mom is still ailing!  Is it her a. fib again?  DH, once he got off the old sotolol (now THAT put him in the hospital for 5 days!) and onto the flecainide he has been in perfect rhythm.  This drug worked for his sister too.  Not saying that this is an option for your Mom...just saying!

    Allison....anything yet?

Laura....what's up with the Goat?  Didn't he spend most of last summer there????  Maybe you need a new one?  Or...a less expensive/troublesome hobby?  Hey...I know....build a pool!  I would be more than happy to come swim in it....

Donna....how are you this morning?  Hopefully you are feeling better and can enjoy some of the day today....you know, before the rains come again.

LittleC....good to hear from you!  Loved all the posts...interesting reading!

Budders....I too had the icky dirty penny taste from the Taxotere.  It went away after 5-6 days tho.  I got one swollen ankle after my last tax tho...it lasted about a week.  Glad you are doing so well.  A lot of girls' hair started to grow back while on Tax so keep checking!  Also...check under your arms once in a while.  I didn't do this and was horribly embarrassed when I realized that it had started to grow back and I didn't know it...and I was doing rads at the time...with my arms over my head!  Oh boy.....

Jacks....now, would we ever tell you to shut up?  Ever?  I still say....write that book!  "Chicken Soup for the Breast Cancer Soul"!

Ginny.....think about you all the time!  Any se's from the navelbine?  When do you get the next test/scan to see how it's working?  Fingers and toes crossed for you!

While I do read the studies about all these natural remedies/plastic/BGH etc I don't worry too much.  You can make yourself sick from the stress about reading every single label that comes your way.  You guys hads me checking every container in the frig yesterday, looking for that little stupid triangle!  So....I am going back to my mantra...everything in moderation.  As for soda...the reason that they talk about it being bad is that the calories in reg. Pop are very high and all from sugar and there is no nutritive value plus there is quite a bit of salt in both the reg. and diet versions (not in Diet Rite tho!)  So...if you are drinking 5-6 cans of reg soda, think of all the sugar you are dumping in your system....read: calories!!!!  And since I really don't know about those artificial sweeteners (altho a lot of diet pops use now the natural sweeteners that have little or no calories), I enjoy in the warm weather, about 4 or so diet pops a week and I don't worry.  I also have 2-3 glasses of wine or the occasional beer, and I don't worry.  I eat margarine as I believe this is better for you than animal fats...but I use MAYBE a tbl. spoon a month!  I do look for dairy that is BGH-free.  I figure if I had little kids around like many of you, I would be feeding them differently these days.  But all-in-all, I just do like I said, everything and anything - in moderation.  OK...Wendy will shut up now.  But I will no longer be reading the little triangles, looking for low numbers!  Heck...most of the time I couldn't even see them!

Found a couple of nice places for al fresco dining if anybody is near the Wauconda area.  Lindy's Landing just off 176 and Main street and Dock's right on 176, E of Main.  Both have HUGE outdoor decks, right on Bang's Lake.  We tried Lindy's yesterday.  It was still raining but the food was pretty good, and the prices were not too bad!  Bit of a warning tho,...when they put in the lines for their parking lot, they are "thisclose"!  There are going to be a lot of dinged doors!  In fact, when we came out the huge suv next to the passenger door was so close I couldn't open my door and had to climb thru the driver side and over the console!  So...if you go...park wisely!

We are having a "deck day" today with lunch at home.  And....DH has promised me dinner at the restaurant of my choice...so back to Sage Bistro for us!  It's on the river in St Charles arnd so pretty out on their deck.  I think it willl be warm enuf to wear something besides long pants and a sweater....FINALLY!

    Have a great day, everyone!

    (PS:  Laura...how's Paula doing?)

Good morning everyone while we have our sun out here.  Weather today seem to indicate that we will more than likely have rain for the next 5 days...huh !!!  What gives.  Not that I didn't believe but it's growing even stronger that we are in a global warming.  Our weather is thank goodness so far a bit cooler than usual but so very wet.

Wendy....way to go.  I think I did not make it too clear that I seldom worry about how I *do* things.  I'll be glaringly honest....my financial situation is usually about four breaths away from a crisis so sometimes I end up doing and eating things that it might be nice if I didn't have to.  At the same time, I do try to strike a balance.  I also feel that our bodies/systems have learned to tolerate so much through the centuries that we can even have poison dripped into our systems and keep right on going.  I also truly think very much like my dad, when it's your time, it's your time period.  I do think though that we can make our life better by our choices but am reminded of that comedienne ( not sure who ) who jokes about all the old folks and their health food.....in the nursing home dying of nothing.  I might mention as well.....according to what Dr.s tell you today my dad did everything wrong including two packs of cigarettes a day and lived to be 83.  He died of Parkinson's and no one is truly sure how you get that.  That is not an excuse to do **all the wrong things**but just bear in mind...,.that your mind is powerful and if you fill it with too many worries --- about anything....wrong foods, plastics, polluted water you will have a much higher chance of that very thing coming to rest right at your feet.  Just as it's said ( usually in reference to food ) you are what you eat......you are also what you think.  So as part of my **recovery** after all the months of depressed type thinking during txs and blahs to some extent even when I was having the **up** time......I practice, and it does take practice, trying to see something positive in everything and everyone.

As my quote for the day I am going to copy and I hope it goes in good....The Optimist Creed.  Dh and I belong to the Optimist Club here and I have always found reciting this creed to just stir good positive vibes and feelings and give me an ideal situation when I'm not having much of one.  It helps to keep me inspired in difficult times.

I'm going to be inspired to copy Laura's list and keep a calendar ( filled in of course ) handy.  Very Happy Birthday   Mary Ann.  Hope it's fantastic.

Hi to everyone else today.  Hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

    Hugs,

    Jackie

Wendy.  Thanks for the heads up on the hair thing.  That would be bad.  I think my good luck ran out last night. I was up most of the night with back and neck pain, probably due to the taxtere.  Today is day 6, so thats about right.  I dont know which is better to take Tylenol or Iburofrien.  I am very uncomfortable.

We went to the zoo in st. louis friday.  We had a good time but I think I paid for it in the end.  I had tons of pain in my lower back on the way home.  I didn't get much sleep that night and ended up with a fever.  I am on Levaqin just in case it is a virus. Been sweating alot and my tummy hasn't been feeling good.  I am so sick of drinking water. I am trying to just eat fruits and veggies but it is really hard.  I have such an icky taste in my mouth.  I just can't seem to win.  i am so tired of being sick and not feeling good..

I think I will take a shower and maybe feel better..

Ginny...HUGS!  Of course you are sick and tired of being sick and not feeling good.  You've been through alot in the last two years and my heart goes out to you.  Have you tried anything lemony for that yucky taste in your mouth?  Lemon drops always did the trick for me.  Others have done lemonade or Crystal Light.  The lemon might even help settle your stomach. Popsicles might also get rid of the taste and provide fluids for you.

Call if you need to talk.  I will see you Thursday night for sure.

Wendrew - You're not only our weather girl, but now also our cruise director! lol Thanks for all the info - I want to check out both. Paula is doing okay, thanks for asking. Still no adverse reaction...yeah, Paula! And... I am so envious! I wish my dh was off all summer. I love the weekends, because he and I are together all day and night!

    ---------------------------------------------

Great news: dh spotted the Fawn this morning - he told me to come look! I went running to the window... it was a welcome sight to see the Mommy Deer and the little Fawn walking through our forest - TOGETHER!

As for the healthy eating "thing"... I agree...everyone should do what's right for them. Moderation is a good thing. But for me... the more I know, the more I try! And... I am trying to go a few steps further than moderation. Many of my relatives have died from cancer. I really believe that diet has ALOT to do with it. I think it's also environmental. Since I'm home most of the time, I have an opportunity to control what I eat. If I go out to eat (very rarely), as a treat, I do indulge, like at our lunch bunches. Also, me and a friend are working on building a website. It's going to be all about alternative medicine and holistic treatment, compound medicines, organic foods, natural supplements, hormone balance/replacement therapy ... things everyone can do to not only prevent cancer, but to prevent it from reoccurring. We will also have a discussion Forum - similar to the one here. I truly believe that our nation is on the cusp of a new trend of thought regarding natural remedies. When I was trying to find a Dr. who practices this type of treatment...every one of them was booked for months and most of them were not taking new patients because they have been overwhelmed with people wanting to try au natural first and then traditional. They are very much in demand.

My mother's Dr. practices both natural and traditional medicine. She recently had real bad pain in her foot. Her Dr. prescribed an organic compounded, topical pain cream. So instead of swallowing a systemic, synthetic pain pill - the cream was targeted to just her foot. And it worked within days and she didn't have to worry about side effects. This is a perfect example of why I believe in all this. I want to "try" natural remedies first... if it doesn't work... then we are blessed with the option of traditional treatment. It's all about options and alternatives. We are fortunate to have so many options.

Worked my butt off today in my gardens... geesh... it's SO MUCH WORK... but I really enjoy it. Am looking forward to dinner, bath, jammies, crochet in bed and let the TV watch me!

    Laura,

I'm so glad that your fawn found its mother!  We have been watching for fawns around here but haven't spotted them yet.  We usually have 2 to 4 every year and they are so much fun to watch.

Quick hello.  Happy Birthday, Mary Jane! Sorry to Ginny for feeling sick.  It is discouraging as we just expect to feel okay.  I hear the St. Louis zoo is cool.  I am hoping this finds you feeling better.  Also, Buddy, hope you are feeling better.  Laura, good news on the fawn/mom reunion.

Mary Poppins was so fantastic.  If you have a child, grandchild or niece  who loves Mary Poppin, please go.  Hey, if you love Mary Poppin and the music, go yourself.  This wasa stunning performance.

I will get back you all tomorrow.

I usually do not follow you guys much, it became too hard for me to keep up! But my bud Laura told me to check out what she was passing on about all the great things we learned at the Health Expo. I wanted to add a link here that I think is of vital importance to us all. I have been reading so much about the connection between bc and thyroid problems as Laura mentioned. The proof is undeniable. There is a lot of information about it on breastcancerchoices.org and the two Docs who are gurus on the subject are Dr. David Brownstein, whose book "Iodine, why you need it, and why you can't live without it" is a MUST read. In the meantime, please take some time to listen to Dr. Flechas, a colleague of Brownsteins in this discussion:

    http://curezone.com/ig/i.asp?i=21726

It may be long, but it is really important, especially if you had rads that may have compromised the thyroid. I did what is called an "iodine loading test" that is sent to Dr. Flechas' lab and I now take iodine supplements that I get from Martin Ave Pharmacy in Naperville.

I must say this is one thing that I resisted for a long time, adding to my regime, but I kept coming across all this information on iodine in my quest for learning about prevention. I am now convinced that taking iodine is such an important preventative measure. BCchoices is doing a study involving bc survivors. I truly believe that the results of this study will eventually lead to this therapy as being standard protocol.

Morning!  51 on my deck with light breeze and some clouds.  Looks nice and warm for this week.  Yay!

Ginny....sick and tired of being sick and tired???  I hear you.  For your tummy...try some rye toast (ergot in the rye flour has a mellowing effect) and anything with ginger in it (settles the tummy) - ginger ale is good and look for ginger chewing gum.  These two products have been used for hundreds of years and I don't think there are any se's!

Budders....sorry you are having pain.  Tylenol is probably the safe one to take but for me, Tylenol does nothing for pain.  Hope the se's don't last too long.

Laura...glad the fawn/mom reunion took place!  Yes, I really do like having DH around all summer but it would be nice if he went out at least one morning a week and let me clean the house, mow, weed, do laundry etc without him following me around saying "What are you doing?  Didn't you do that last week?  What's that?  Where are you going?  Can I come with?  Let's go out for lunch!" 20x a day!  Oh well....

Blackjack....I'm glad you got out on the water yesterday!  I didn't take the Z out....we stayed home all day, but none of the people around here did - it was sooooo quiet and nice!  No kids, no radios, no motorcycles, no dogs....just my fountain splashing.  That's my water-time!

Keeping it short today...DH didn't finish up some paperwork on Friday so is going to school this morning - I want to get going so I can be all done by the time he gets back home.  Have a wonderful sun-shiney day!

Back ALL!! Just checking in and so many posts i have missed in just a few days!!!  Getting stronger each day and hope to go visit my DAD next week in NY as he will be turning 90. The intersting part is, i am still not beleiving that there are no more treatments. I need some closure or something.. wierd!!Last night, I realized I did not have to use the special toothpaste! I got rid of soaps that were associated with surgery and it helped to do that!!

Now I want to read some good books on AFTER chemo and how to Rebuild my body. This will be a process as my brain is still a bit slow!! Any suggestions of what to start with. The iodine subject VIVRE has brought in, is an example of something to get educated on. Before chemo, my holsitic DR wanted me to dab my arm with iodine and see in a 12 hr-24hr period to see if it would be absorbed. and it was. Appears to me i need iodine?!!

Ginny.. read your post and beleive me, you have a right to be sick and tired of being sick and tired. Just doin what you can when you can to nuture yourself as a nap, hot shower or just venting is all i know to do!!!!

Hope all else is well. ALso..Jackie..what you said about the white foods (the one i never eat) did help during my sick days and ate stuff that i never would eat but it did help me get thu the sick moments~!!!

I am goin to print out all of the posts here, just way too much good info and cannot digest it all yet!!!

Have a great day and To all... healthy wishes..'

    Good morning gals!

Just a quick "pop in" today to see how everyone is doing.  Wendy TY is a chairman on the St.Jude Golf Outing/Benefit today and I'm helping her for a few hours on the golf course.  She has been working day and night on this event as it's a real "biggie" and brings in LOTS of money for St. Jude.  She'll be ready to collapse when it is over.

I'm interested in the foods that we should be eating.  Believe me, I am trying but I was raised on meat, potatoes, and veggies at every meal.  I'm tryng to add more fish and chicken to my diet and get away from the red meat.  The nutritionist at the cancer center said to change your diet gradually or you'll never stick with it in the long run.  That makes sense to me me.  I'm also trying to eat some blueberries, which I don't really like.  I disguise them in fat-free, sugar-free pudding with strawberries and I can do that.  My problem is finding the time to plan the meals and get them on the table so I find myself cheating.

Hugs today, Ginny.  I'm thinking of you. Just rest if you need to rest for a few days.

Well, I need to get moving.  I'll try to stop in later today.  It looks like we're going to have a nice day for the golf outing.

    Take care everyone!
