The roots of love sink down and deep and strike out far, and they are arteries that feed our lives, so we must see that they get the water and sun they need so they can nourish us. And when you put something good into the world, something good comes back to you.

Lago-I already take Effexor to control my vestibular migraines...Not sure what other meds besides the anti-depressants we could try. I also see my pcp tomorrow so I will run it by him as well. Oncologist wasn't super concerned since I had chemo. If I hadn't done that, he would have been much more reluctant to me stopping. We will see how this all plays out after the first of the year!
-
Mimi when I told my MO I wanted to stop after 3 years on Anastrozole she went on to tell me that I was high risk for recurrance. I too had 6 rounds of chemo. I don't know your details but I might get a 2nd opinion just to be sure before stopping.
-
Lago-thanks for your concern. I will revisit this in February when I see my onc again. In the meantime, I saw my ortho yesterday as a follow up to my hip replacement and still having groin pain, apparently the cup portion of the implant has shifted so now I am using a walker again limiting the weight bearing on that leg and my need more surgery to fix it! I just can't seem to catch a break here...now I am worn out just getting into work this morning.
-
MimiL,
So sorry to hear your news, but glad you 'know' why you are having the issue. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for this X-mas season and the New Yr. that things go smoother and become highly manageable for all.
Blessings,
Jackie

We’re all assigned a piece of garden, a corner of the universe that is ours to transform. Our corner of the universe is our own life—our relationships, our homes, our work, our current circumstances—exactly as they are. Every situation we find ourselves in is an opportunity, perfectly planned by the Holy Spirit, to teach love instead of fear.

Thanks ladies! I know that in the grand scheme of things, there are women here who are much worse off then I am. I am cancer free at the time, which is wonderful and I am very grateful for the advances in treatments that are available to us these days. But I just get so frustrated, 18 months ago, I felt pretty healthy aside from arthritis, I felt well, now I just don't feel well at all and that makes me angry.
On another note, I am now using a wheelchair to get to work, when I saw the ortho the other day, when checking my hip x-ray he discovered that the cup portion of the implant has shifted-apparently the integrity of my bone was worse than he thought and I have a small fracture, so non-weight bearing for up to 12 weeks-yikes to try to prevent another surgery to fix the cup permanently. Let me tell you this old, fat body isn't made for non-weight bearing! I hop around the best I can with my walker around the house and my dear friend lent me her wheelchair to get into work since it is a long walk. Hopefully I can keep enough weight off it so it can heal, but the pain is gone since I'm not using it. Always something as Roseanne, Roseanna Danna used to say
Hope you all have peaceful, pain free days!

"In a world of comparison and conformity, make your own statement. Honor your own truth. Have the courage to be yourself; risk speaking your own thoughts and claiming your emotions. Share your vulnerabilities, tears, doubts, and insecurities; let others experience the real you. Have the courage to be yourself and realize that you are a wonderful person."

Mimi,
It is "grand" that you are cancer free but you are wholly entitled to feel just a bit cheated ( many of us I think did ) that you started your 'cancer' journey quite well and not don't feel that way at all. The continuation of problems -- while you search for the new normal -- is so understandable and is making some REAL hardships as you try to heal. I always think before we can start a 'strong' recovery we have to HONOR our own TRUTHS -- ONCE again without reading here first I chose a quote and it seems to fit.
Thinking about you and wishing you well and sending lots of positive energies.
Blessings

Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.

Mimi--I know it "it is always something----darn I miss Gilda Radner! Extra prayers coming from me for your healing. I can't imagine what you are going thru, but thankfully the cancer is gone even tho sometimes its hard to think like a survivor. Bet you have a great ortho and it will be fixed just on a longer schedule than we like.....
Hope your Christmas is full of whatever your heart treasures most.

Every person must follow his or her own process. No one else knows what is right for another. There is no goal in living our process, except to live it. Our processes can change. Our lives can change as we participate in the process. Our only requirement is to trust the process and live in faith. Our responsibility is to live out what our Creator asks of us. To live our lives. Living our process demands a deep spiritual commitment of being one with one's life.
Anne Wilson Schaef -
Happiness blooms in the presence of self-respect and the absence of ego. Love yourself. Love everyone around you.
Love everyone in the whole world. Know that your own life is of infinite importance, as is every other life.

Light rain falling here. It is cool, but far from cold -- just mainly damp. Tomorrow, no rain, but windy- The snow showers come Wednesday --- aaarrrgggg. Well, I'm happy we don't have two feet of snow on the ground to contend with. I have to decide what 'dishes' to make and take over to my BIL's for a Christmas Eve get together. It should be ok though I'm the only female left ( of the family here ) as my two SIL's have passed on. I should be doing the whole meal but opted out since often my work schedule could be over full time this time of yr. if my employers are gone. Just so happens this yr. they won't be -- but until I no longer work.....I have to assume I'll be tied up.
Hope you are all looking forward ( weather cooperation would be such a blessing ) to a wonderful Christmas Day in whatever part of Illinois you reside.
Blessings,
Jackie

Happy Hanukah, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. I am fighting a head cold that has me sniffling and coughing and feeling exhausted. Had my 1st mammo since the BC diagnosis and see the surgeon tomorrow. Got a form letter saying that the mammo was normal, but I want to see what the radiologist wrote... He did do an ultrasound of the armpit on the other side since I felt a knot in there, but the tech said they didn't find anything in it.....
No big tree this year because I don't quite trust Esmerelda the new kitty. Small table top one and nativity on the other end. Came home one night and found my disposable razor by the front door., meaning she had been inside the tub to get to it.... She's pretty darn active most days I guess. She has finally quit waking me up at 3AM to lay on my face and purr....but she still pounces on my feet if I move them around when she is in bed with me....
Hope the next few days are filled with whatever you each treasure the most in your hearts. Know that I treasure each of you in mine.

Happy variety of holidays to the Illinois gals! I actually see peeks of sun this morning! What a difference it makes. I work 12 hour shifts tomorrow and Christmas and am hoping the snow doesnt get too bad for the drive back and forth!
We have 4 kitties and one especially is the devil. Anything small and moveable I have to make sure is secure or otherwise its gone! He likes to smack the door protectors that go on the wall by the floor, to make the boiiiing noise!
-
I would like to wish you and your famililes a wonderful holiday season! It looks like we might get some snow here in Central IL today, so maybe a white Christmas here?
Be safe if you are traveling, have a peaceful, painfree holiday!

i have already been through 2 treatments of A/C i go to my next appointment Jan.6th,2015. i have a few se from them but all i am is just mainly tired and my mouth is sore.
-
karen1971,
Are you using Biotene mouth wash? I had TC and had no problems with my mouth.
I was on my 3rd round during the Christmas holiday. I managed to cook Xmas dinner for my daughter and her boyfriend. Wasn't very complicated and I didn't have to clean the house. That was the best.
Hang in there.
Merry holidays all.
-
doxie: thanks. actually my doctor prescribe me a mouth wash for me. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE.

A very special quote today and a bountiful warm, and wondrous Christmas to all of you.
If it's not yet obvious to you, the real reason for this, and all seasons, is you. A more perfect child of the Universe has never lived. Until now, only celebrations cloaked in myth and mystery could hint at your divine heritage and sacred destiny. You are life's prayer of becoming and its answer. The first light at the dawn of eternity, drawn from the ether, so that I might know my own depth, discover new heights, and revel in seas of blessed emotion.
A pioneer into illusion, an adventurer into the unknown, and a lifter of veils. Courageous, heroic, and exalted by legions in the unseen.
To give beyond reason, to care beyond hope, to love without limit; to reach, stretch, and dream, in spite of your fears. These are the hallmarks of divinity - traits of the immortal - your badges of honor. May you wear them with a pride as great as what we feel for you.
Your light has illuminated darkened paths, your gaze has lifted broken spirits, and already your life has changed the course of history.
This is the time of year we celebrate you.
Bowing before Greatness,
The UniverseBlessings,
Jackie

ILLINOISLAD: that is very beautiful saying. i hope everyone enjoying their Christmas.

The moment you start seeing life as non-serious, a playfulness,
all the burden on your heart disappears.
All the fear of death, of life, of love - everything disappears.

I will be generous with my love today. I will sprinkle compliments
and uplifting words everywhere I go. I will do this knowing that
my words are like seeds and when they fall on fertile soil, a
reflection of those seeds will grow into something greater.Steve Maraboli
