Hi ladies hope every one is doing good today Yes it is cold and now the stores are all decked out for Christmas seems they forget Turkey day trying to get Halloween decos down and packed up hope every one has a great day!
-
Of course my furnace went out today. Waiting for the guy to come. Sigh. At least it isnt January.
-
Freezing here! Yikes...I am so NOT ready for winter. It better not be as brutal as last winter! Welcome to all the new gals! This is a fun place to hang out....the best ladies ever! I have been reading the posts lately but have not posted much. Not much to report here with me....that's a good thing, right? Keeping busy with everything. This December will be 4 years since my DX. It has been officially 3 years I have lived in Chicago area now too. Time flies! I know time seems to stand still to those still in treatment, but honestly once you are done, time goes by so fast! Hang in there!
-
Aviwa I sure hope you got it fixed that sucks
-
Holy moments come to us daily if we will ask for eyes to see. It may be the sun streaming through the window as you fold laundry. Or maybe it’s lifting your friends to God while you drive to work. We can’t always withdraw to quiet hillsides to pray, but God will meet with us in the quiet places of our hearts.
Sheila Walsh -
Yup got it fixed really fast. We use Rakow Heating (shameful plug), and they sent someone within about an hour. It was a bad igniter, which he replaced off the truck. AAhh blessed heat!
-
Aviva....That is great service! I'm so glad you got if fixed. It looks like it's going to be lots colder next week.
-
glad you have heat again! Bundle up every one it is cold out!

Blessings on this day, may I make it special in some way. Blessings on my life, may I treat it with love and care. Blessings on all people, may I see the goodness in everyone. Blessings on nature, may I notice its beauty and wonder. Blessings on the truth, may it be my constant companion.
Charlottte Davis-Kasl -
The great simplicity: I could not stop re-reading this quote this morning.
Don't choose. Accept life as it is in its totality.
- Osho

Most of our possessions arrive in our lives almost by accident. Gradually, like falling snow, they accumulate around us until they form the basis for our identity. We do not intend for this to happen. Most things we acquire are meant to increase our happiness and sense of fulfillment. But their uniqueness is quickly subsumed into the ordinariness of daily affairs. We wake up one day and find ourselves surrounded by possessions that mean nothing to us. Our freedom is gone; our lightness of being is gone. In their place is a sense of responsibility and ownership. We have become curators of our own cluttered reality.
Kent Nerburn -
The above really resonated with me today as I have been taking the opportunity to clean out some areas where I have far too many things that are not being used -- but have been warehoused. Looking for that sense of freedom and lightness. Should arrive soon.
Blessings

There are no secrets of success. Success is doing the things you know you should do. Success is not doing the things you know you should not do. Success is discovering your best talents, skills and abilities and applying them where they will make the most effective contribution to your fellow human beings. Success is ninety-nine percent mental attitude. It calls for love, joy, optimism, confidence, serenity, poise, faith, courage, cheerfulness, imagination, initiative, tolerance, honesty, humility, patience, and enthusiasm.
Wilferd A. Peterson -
When we recognize that nothing has to go right for us to be happy, that people do not have to behave for us to love them, our walk home can be surprisingly simple. We have enormous power not to manipulate the world, but to be happy and know peace.
Hugh Prather -
Burrr! Here comes winter. Hard to make myself go outside for walks and runs, then I remind myself it will be much worse! Not much for exercising inside, so gotta put up with the burrrr.
-
I went out this morning. I didn't think it was too bad at all but I was dressed for it. My issue is when the wind really picks up or if it's icy. Don't want to fall!

"Forgive yourself for the mistakes of the past and smile at past struggles. They are what have made you the stronger person that you are today. Keep on pushing on, positively. Persevere on what is important to you. You are getting closer -- and better -- and stronger -- everyday."
-- Craig Ballantyne -
Our freezing weather is here -- snow ( thank goodness billed as fairly light ) on the week-end.

I drove to Tuscola today in snow that limited visibility. I am NOT ready for these colder temps and those white flurries! Brrrr..............
-
I had my long puffy coat, 180s, gloves and scarf on these past 2 days. The Ginko trees lost all their leaves the last 2 days. Brrrr
-
Hmmm, well we had lots of flurries today -- not supposed to see anything till at least Sat. or Sat. night. The good news is that though big flakes, their was no accumulation at all. They just seemed to hang in the air a short while and then just stop. Happened most of the day though. Not surprised. We never really know what to expect -- I think if we stick our head out and it is pretty cold we could expect "something" maybe. There -- I think my weather report was just as good as we got from the real weather person on t.v. Sigh !!! and Ugg. It's really cold out of doors.
See you all tomorrow.

If instead of a gem or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give.

So cold and frosty out this morning -- the ground is crunchy.

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just
as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy
life cannot be without a measure of darkness,
and the word "happy" would lose its meaning if it
were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take
things as they come along with patience and equanimity.
Carl Jung -
Courage doesn't always roar.
Sometimes courage is the quiet voice
at the end of the day, saying,
"I will try again tomorrow."
- Mary Anne Radmacher -
One of my favorite quotes Jackie :-)
-
We never encounter a mountain greater than
doubt. Doubt is a deceiver. It is as a thief in the night.
Remove it, do not let it come nigh your dwelling.
Frater Achad -
dltmhn -- I always think -- something like, so many quotes, so little time --- and I'm stealing that from a t-shirt seen long ago. I don't know what started my obsessive love of quotes. I think perhaps mainly that they said so well the things I've always felt but couldn't ( at least to my satisfaction ) articulate.
Thank you for letting me know that it is a favorite. I don't always look for a "new" one not used here before. If an oldie but goodie turns up in my email ( I subscribe to many quote outlets ) a lot of times I will go ahead and use it. Because I usually really, really like it, and if it comes I wonder -- maybe someone needs to see this today.
Looking at our three or four inches of snow out my window. Winter has definitely arrived early this yr. Makes me question just what kind we will have. Hope it does not end up memorable for its harshness.
Thinking warm thoughts of all of you and hoping you are just that -- warm and comfortable wherever you are.
Blessings

I've had so many scans lately I afraid I may be glowing. But all good. Kidney pain after an infection finally let to a CT. Looks like it finally cleared up and with it the pain. Then had my yearly mammo and that came out "normal"! Told my BS "how can a radiated breast be normal?" He said it was probably because my fake nipple looks so good. I'll take it.

Way to go Doxie -- time to let out a nice long sigh and enjoy......which would be easier if it was a bit warmer, eh !!!!
