2141 - This mother's day poem written by my 8 y/o son:
I hear my Mother's soft voice reading poems to me, words like music over and over. I hear the sound of her cooking spoon beating against a white bowl in her sweet-smelling kitchen. I hear her car turning into the driveway home from work. I hear her heels taptapping as she comes into the bedroom to kiss me good-night and I feel her smooth skin as she takes me in her arms and holds me tight.
Is he talented or what? -

2178. Having 14 of my son's friends here to get in the limo to go to their prom -- how great they looked, the fun they were having and being so grateful that I was able to see this and take part. A year ago this month I thought I would never see my children finish growing up, and now I know that there is hope.
-
2179. A warm spring day, bright robin's egg blue sky, no clouds, the sound of lawn mowers, the smell of a barbecue, reading my book in the sun.
-
2180. Celibrating with my parents their 60th wedding anniversary today. My mother was placed in hospice 8 months ago due to "end-stage" heart disease. She didn't need her O2 today and received a beautiful diamond ring from my father who could afford only a speck of a diamond 60 years ago. Our mortality is under God's control! Dad's eyes still sparkle when he looks at her and she was beautiful... even at 84 married to an older guy of 93!
Pat -
2181. My best friend coming home from vacation on the weekend and coming to see me right away to give me a hug.

2184. Petting our new puppy "Maggie".
2185. Seeing mom up and about after she's been sick and homebound for so long.
2186. Life going back to "normal" after chemo and rad treatments.
2187. Being able to go back to work tomorrow knowing cancer treatments are behind me. -
2188. Having my 3rd herceptin today, arriving in the oncology suite and one of my favourite nurses telling me as soon as she saw me how much she liked my "new" hair and that the colour I put on it suits me...when I was having second thoughts that the colour looked good.

2198. Leaving my window open last night while I went to sleep -- the sound of the rain hitting the leaves, and the smell of fresh rain.
2199. Meeting an old friend for coffee & bagels this morning -- her treat and the lovely little gift bag she gave me when we parted -- some fresh rooibos provence tea and orange biscuits...which I'll enjoy this afternoon in my best china, while reading a book, snuggling under the afghan, hearing the rain -- and I'll be reminded of how precious relationships are. -
2200. Making a post last night on the thread about amazing things people have done for you & talked about a woman I didn't know before bc who catered a meal one of my friends ordered for me. This lady was so touched by this and then brought me another meal -- because she wanted to do this for me. I made that post at 11:00 p.m., read an email this morning from my friend, which she sent at 11:30 last night -- this same caterer wants to drop in sometime tomorrow to bring me a fruit tray & a dessert tray. That's not a coincident, it's a blessing and it has started my day on the right note.
