    Hi ladies

I hope you don't mind me popping in.

I was 38 when I was diagnosed so I thought I could add some value here.  When I was diagnosed I had only been married for 6 months and had a life plan for the next year, which didn't include BC! funnily enough.

Life is a bit different when you're diagnosed when you're younger as you have so many more decisions to make about having children for example.

I am pleased to say that even though I was only given a one in 10 chance at survivial turned 50 last year.  Even though you are diagnosed when you're young you can lead a full and happy life when it's all over.

    Take care ladies

    Love

    Gai

    Hi Shari0707

I am so pleased that you have such a wonderfully positive mindset and outlook on life.  I found that was more important than anything else for me.

    Take care

    Gai

PS Although my life has changed so much it is much better now than it was before because my priorities are all in sync now!Smile

10 years today since my diagnosis. I was 31 at the time, have since had 2 mastectomy's with reconstructions, 2 courses of chemo, RFA on suspected liver mets and 3 implant revisions. It has now been over 9 years NED. Back then I could not imagine getting to 10 year but here I am. You have to believe because it does happen!

Thanks tiinajk for coming back and sharing. Congrats on your 10 year, that must feel amazing. I am a bit younger than you were when you were diagnosed, so it really helps to hear from people like you, when I get scared about the future. Hope you do something nice to celebrate today.

Another younger one - I was in my early 30s when diagnosed in 2007 with HER2 + IDC and several lymph nodes involved (large lump under arm as well). Fast forward to today, had double mastectomy and reconstruction and life is good :)
