Hi guys it seems this site is now so large that none of the old post can be brought up and the titles Pooh-Bah, Veteran, Carpal Tunnels, Old Hand, and Journeyer have been replaced with the title member (sigh)
Anyway, as some of you may have noticed, I am hoping some one will pick up the gauntlet and have a virtual Christmas Party.
Besides the fact that I hosted it last year and I would now like to visit some ones elses country, I have been too long absent and many other ladies now tread where I once walked and it would be presumptuous of me to just take the lead. (sounds like a plausible excuse and Im sticking with it)
Sooooo for those ladies that dont know what I am talking about we had 44 guests and near on 200 posts/replies, 32 cats, 13 dogs and 2 zebra finches. Our DH thought we were quite made and children paced outside their mothers studys wondering what mum was doing in there sipping lemonade from her best crystal and laughing as if she was with company.
And we all awaited the birth of Chloe the grand daughter of Nana Cheryl AKA cthomason
This was the first post for our Christmas 2005 Virtual Party.

Welcome to wonderful, sunny, Western Australia, where the weather is fine and the beaches are sublime.
Hopefully all have a had a good journey, whether by plane, helicopter, or floo powder (for the Harry Potter Fans)
As you walk out of customs, look for the zany female dressed in red, standing on a bench (only 52) waving the placard with NARIA written in bold letters.
Limos are waiting at the front. Head this way ladies for the virtual Christmas fun.
We will have sisters arriving all through the day and night and into the following day as each new one arrives lets make her feel extra welcome.
Remember as soon as you enter my Mansion, (where all the bedrooms have ensuites and places for our pets), that we are symptomatic free, happy, healthy and beautiful (which we are already anyway).
Each room has a wonderful Christmas tree, a present from LornaUK and presents for yourselves and all the pets that traveled with you.
An extra special gift to all our pets from Snowangel: diamond studded collars and I have tow gold leg rings for her zebra finches.
A massage by the gorgeous Magic Fingers and a show by the Chippendales compliments of Laurap.
We will have a few surprise visits from some unreal singers thanks to LornaUKs connections and a gal from Memphis (VickiTN)
Let your imagination rule, nothing is forbidden, all tales must be funny ones and laughter dictates the way.
No talk of BC allowed because as we have decreed there is no such thing as BC in our Virtual Reality.
For the late arrivals just follow the aroma of the Memphis Ribs on the BBQ and the joyous sound of laughter as you walk through the house, we will be out by the pool, either lounging, swimming or sipping on a cocktail of our choice in the adjoining spa.
Those that would rather settle in first, just hop in the lift, punch in your user name on the control panel and it will automatically take you to your room.
Look out your window and take in the view of the:
Dog Club House with sand pit and shallow pools
The massive cat jungle gym, with a separate section for Molly the Bobtail, who prefers to be alone.
The large bamboo bird cage set up high in one of the Gum Trees for Snowangels 2 Zebra Finches who will feel quite at home as this is there native country.
Come and join us, the water is great and the company is perfect

It was truly the best time I had all last year! I think your party was the first time I had REALLY laughed after my diagnosis. I do hope someone will take the lead and host a virtual party again this year.
hugs,

Oh how I hope that we have another virtual Christmas party again. Last year was so much fun!
I am not much of a hostess but hope someone who is comes along who is and invites us into their virtual home/country.
Hugs,
suzie -
I would like to come this year. I wasn't on the boards so much then.

It really is a piece of cake to host a virtual party all you have to do is spend a little time on the internet to find websites of tourist interest in the country you live in, the others that check out your post and log onto the URLs you posted will take care of the rest.
Its great, you get all these visitors and yet you don't have to buy food or cook or clean the house and its an excuse to make your study off bounds from the rest of the family and for some reason they feel obliged to bring you refreshment and they honestly do leave you alone
All you need is your own imagination and the rest bring theirs along as well.
Love Saskia -
I could host a virtual Christmas Party!!! It will be my one year anniversary of my dx and would love to celebrate with all of you...how about a virtual Thanksgiving party too...?
Vickie -
Vickie - a trip to New York for the holidays sounds like a fabulous idea to me! Just let us know the date and I'll start packing...or, better yet, I'll simply shop for all my "virtual" needs in New York!
