Oh Patti - so sorry to hear of this latest development of shingles. This is off topic for your sweet Mom at this point, but just wanted to let everyone know that just this week I learned there is a new vaccine for shingles that they are suggesting everyone over 60 get. I called my doctor and he referred me to some clinic. They have the vaccine but they are charging $280 for it and they do not accept insurance. I guess b/c it is so new that no one is sure how it is going to be handled yet. I believe it is good for either 5 or 10 years.
Again, didn't mean to get off topic, Patti, and am so very very sorry to hear that your Mom has them!! She is in my heart and prayers for relief from pain. I am so very happy she has you!!!
God bless,
Pat -
Patti,
I always see your beautiful post, never asking anything for yourself, always lifting others in their needs. Your mother is certainly in all of our prayers. Patti, you are in our prayers too, it isn't easy to care for aging parents and especially when they are in pain from shingles or suffering from dementia.
Lord, we come before you this evening asking you to pour an extra measure of your peace and comfort to Patti's mother as she suffers with the pain of shingles. We lift Patti to you too, Lord, her needs are equally great. We ask that you give her an extra measure of patience and strength for the days ahead. Giving you praise and glory, we ask these things in Jesus name. Amen
Patti, you are a special daughter and I think this is something your mother would post to you if she was able. I am sure your are your mother's greatest treasure.
Love and blessings from all of us, Brenda -
Patti I am thinking of you and your Mother
and lifting you in prayer ~

Dear Sweet Patti, prayer warrior, and friend!
You are always so faithful to lift your sisters up, of course I will be praying for you and your mama. I remember all too well the pain of watching my own mom suffer. Just remember... In the book of Mark it tells about Jesus and the disciples crossing the sea in a boat. Jesus was asleep "on a cushion," while the storm raged all around. The disciples were in fear for their lives and cried for Jesus to wake up and save them. He told the storm to be quiet and it did. He is still in control of the universe! Even while he sleeps. Another good lesson from this is that we need rest too! I pray that you and your mom have some peaceful rest this weekend. I will be praying for comfort for you both. Pam -
Dearest Patti, your mom is very much in my prayers and you are always in my thoughts. Praying for comfort.
Love,
Denise -

For your Mom ~
Many Irish Blessings
and may the Lord relieve you of your pain ~
Go n-eírí an bóthar leat.
May the road rise with you.
May the blessing of the rain be on you
the soft sweet rain.
May it fall upon your spirit
so that all the little flowers may spring up,
and shed their sweetness on the air.
May the blessing of the great rains be on you,
may they beat upon your spirit
and wash it fair and clean,
and leave there many a shining pool
where the blue of heaven shines,
and sometimes a star.
May the good earth be soft under you
when you rest upon it,
and may it rest easy over you when,
at the last, you lay out under it,
And may it rest so lightly over you
that your soul may be out
from under it quickly,
and up, and off,
And be on its way to God.
May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
brightened by a song in your heart,
and warmed by the smiles
of the people you love.
If God sends you down a stony path,
may he give you strong shoes.
May the rains sweep gentle across your fields,
May the sun warm the land,
May every good seed you have planted bear fruit,
And late summer find you standing in fields of plenty.
May the frost never afflict your spuds.
May the leaves of your cabbage always be free from worms.
May the crows never pick your haystack.
If you inherit a donkey, may she be in foal.
May there always be work for your hands to do.
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane.
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
Wherever you go and whatever you do,
May the luck of the Irish be there with you.
Wishing you always...
Walls for the wind,
A roof for the rain
And tea beside the fire.
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all that your heart may desire
May neighbours respect you,
Trouble neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And heaven accept you.
May the smile of God light you to glory.
God bless the corners of Your house,
And be the lintel blest,
And bless the hearth and bless the board,
And bless each place of rest,
And bless each door that opens wide
To stranger as to kin,
And bless each crystal window pane
That lets the starlight in,
And bless the rooftree overhead
And every sturdy wall.
The peace of man, the peace of God,
The peace of love on all.
hugs,
Carrie -
