I just wanted to thank you all once again for your prayers. His family knows we here have taken them into our hearts.
I only knew Vinnie and his family through his great-uncle. I was so moved, not only as a friend but as a mother and also as someone who knows first hand the difficult cancer journey. It's so much worse when it involves children!
Bless you all, Fran
Vincent Edward Szpieg
Vincent Edward Szpieg, age one, passed away at home on Monday, October 9th in the loving arms of his parents after a courageous battle with cancer. Vinnie was born February 25, 2005, the son of Terry A. and Marnie K. (Relitz) Szpieg, of Ada, who survive in addition to a brother, Devin Neary; grandparents, Bruno and Alice Szpieg Jr., Fruitport, Lyle and Cathy Relitz, Grand Rapids; one aunt, Jeanette Szpieg and James McClendon; one cousin, Ryan Patrick McClendon; plus several great aunts and great uncles. Visitation for Vinnie will be on Thursday, October 12th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Simpson Family Funeral Home, 246 S. Main Street, Sheridan, MI. A private memorial service will be held later for the family. For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested that memorial considerations can be made to the DeVos Children's Hospital Oncology Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
