Vinnie is now at peace

I posted a while ago about a friend's nephew. His name is Vinnie, he is 1 year old and has cancer. This is the latest post from his parents regarding his progress. What courage, compassion and love they display. I can only imagine the pure hell that accompanied their decision to let their sweet baby boy find peace. Please send special prayers that God wraps his warm, comforting arms tightly around them all as they face this insanity!!
This is not fair!!!!!

"Hello Everyone,
Well, we went for our CT scan last Thursday and we received the results that evening. The scans showed more progression of the cancer around the liver, around the stomach, in the lungs and in the lymph nodes. After the last round of chemotherapy and long conversations with our team of doctors and oncologists, we’ve decided that the best thing to do for Vincent at this point would be to stop subjecting him to repeated treatment. The cancer is just too aggressive and we cannot seem to gain any ground on it.
We were originally scheduled for more in-patient chemo starting Monday, but on Friday Vincent’s pain increased and we were admitted to the hospital. We have been set up with an infusion pump that gives Vincent a constant stream of pain medication. We came home from the hospital today (Sunday) with Hospice care. Our main goal now is to keep Vincent comfortable and filled with our love. Please continue to pray for Vincent. We’ll let you know how things go."

    Dear Lord who knows all, sees all and has infinite compassion, please take Vinnie and his family in your arms. Please comfort them, give them peace and help them to enjoy the time they have together. Bless them Lord. In his name. Amen

    Dear Lord, some days we think we have it so bad!!! I myself very Guilty of This!! Today Lord, I pray You Give ALL Your Love to this SWEET LITTLE BOY AND HIS FAMILY!! Give Vinney, A Painfree Life, and Comfort His Poor Family, in Your Name I Ask, AMEN.

    Gracious Father, you have created us and known our name before we are born. We praise you and thank you for all you give us. We thank you for our families and for our children. We understand, Father, that our children are only on loan to us and that they are a gift and can be called home before we are ready. It hurts, it hurts so much to loose them or to see them suffer. We lift up Vincent and his family and ask you to give him a peaceful passage home; to hold tight to his family so they can endure the days ahead and we humbly ask, Father, that you give them peace. Peace that Vincent is now running with the angels and is experiencing your promise of no more nights, no more pain and no more tears. Amen.

    Lord, I look into the face of Vinnie and I see the face of angel. He is so beautiful,Lord, and I try not to think of lost years,lost memories, loss of giggles. Sometimes we struggle,Lord, to understand your ways. We cry "Why, Lord, Why" and there is silence. Are some sent to us to teach us how to live; how to give everything to you; to teach us how to be compassionate; to make us reach our full potential as Christians? Oh, Lord, in Psalms you tell us that you knew the number of our days before we were born. We come before you in faith Lord, trusting your promises that you will never leave us; that you will give us a peace like no other; a strength to endure; you are our friend in the darkness and lonliness of the nights; that you would heal our wounds. Lord, Vinnie in his short time has shown us more about living and joy and happiness than many who have traveled many more miles and given many more years. We humbly ask if healing isn't possible, Lord, that you be there with Vinnie holding his hand, as he slips into the promised land. May his parents know your peace and wrap them in your presence and your love.

    Prayers for Vinnie and his family...honor and remember every minute of joy that you share with your precious son. My sister is a beautiful angel who went to live with God in June. I cherish every memory I have with her. Debbie

    It is with mixed emotions that I tell you Vinnie passed away yesterday. My heart is deeply saddened for the loss of such a precious life but I am thankful he is now at peace. Such a long hard battle for such a sweet baby.
    Thank you all for your prayers. I would like to ask you to continue to keep his family in your prayers as they adjust to life without him.

    FranH, I thank you for letting me Pray and get to know this little Boy. Although i wish it were under diferent reasons, I think many of us will Always remember that precious Smile!!! NOW we know another Angel, and I can see Him Just Driving the tiers off of Jesus's WAGON!!! I Pray, for the Family, to have Comfort in knowing His Pain is NO LONGER!!
