Update on my mom

I know it has seemed forever since I have posted, but life seems to wiz by since my mom was first diagnosed.

She had a lumpectomy on Tues. Sept. 12 with a Sentinal Node Biopsy. Her path reprt just came back on Monday. She had a 1.8 cm tumor and all her lymphs were clear. She is estrogen positive. She also had clear margins. She was 3 out of 3 for the grade scale. It is ductal.

She is going to the oncologist tomorrow to hear treatment options. She knows that she will have to do the rads but is unsure about the chemo. Honestly, this is all I can remember about the report as it can be very overwhelming.

She is very positive, (as she has been all along). I just wonder what the next part of the journey will entail.

She is very sore right now especially where they took out some lymph nodes. (She hates that she has to be waited on now. She has never had that in her whole life. She is 59 years old. But, there are somethings she will have to get used to).

Thanks for listening.

I hope the oncologist visit goes well. They'll have a recommendation about chemothearpy.

It is overwhelming, but she's on the road to recovery -- and with clear lymph nodes.
