New Magazine for Breast Cancer Patients

Hi Everyone,

Today I picked up a new magazine called "Beyond - Live & Thrive Beyond Breast Cancer. I picked up the premier issue at Costco. It has some good articles covering many of the issues often raised by all of us on this site and also has some lighthearted/fun topics. I liked it and would probably subscribe.

I found the second edition at Walmart right after my dx of DCIS. I thought that it was a good magazine. it helped answer some of my questions.

I never did find the 1st edition, but I found the 2nd edition at Books a Million in McLean, VA.

I just bought the third edition at Walmart. It is scheduled to go off the newsstand Dec 18. check it out. It has good article on fake boobs.

I have both second and third editions. I will be donating them to the new Wig Bank.

There's no Walmart close to me and since I dont have membership to costco I'll have to keep an eye out for it (if they have it at walmart hopefully it means they have it at Target).

I love this too. . . but I heard that it was going to shut down after these three issues. Has anyone else heard that?

I'll try to confirm.

A friend wrote a letter to the editor, had a conversation with them, and that's when she was told. To my recollection, she was not given a reason.

I hope that it does not stop. I found it reasuring during my surgeries and have donated my issues to the wig bank.

I heard the same thing about the magazine shutting down.  I have tried to find a website for the mag, but with no success.  Anyone know if there's a website?

I saw the magazine at Barnes and Noble and flipped through it, but at the time I was so scared of the words "breast cancer", I put it back on the rack.  Wish I hadn't now.
