Calling Prayer Warriors for Karen L.

I just posted this at bcmets.org...As Karen was very active here also, I want you all to have the latest on our sweet sister...Mena...xo
Hi everyone,
I made my Sunday phone call to Sally, Karen's mom, and while she's still optimistic, as Karen always is, here is the truth about what's going
on:
First of all, one of the drs. Sally spoke to while Karen was in the
hospital actually told Sally "...about a month..." Now, Karen has
beaten the odds before, so I'm not real thrown by this remark. It's the
other things.
For example, Karen had a bad night two nights ago and had trouble
breathing and began to panic. Sally was afraid to administer the 5 mg
morphine, so the nurse came out at 2 am and did it for her. The onc
thinks it may just have been a panic attack. They are awful, as many
of you know.
Secondly, Karen's own onc, has told Sally that she doesn't think that
Karen is going to pull through this. Karen asked her onc for
carboplatin, but in order to get that, she'd have to go back into the
hospital, which she does not want to do. She is truly fighting to live.
But her body is very tired and has been through so much.
More bothersome is the fact that Karen has become very listles and
quiet. Sally said last week, all of a sudden, one day Karen became very
quiet. Usually, she talks to her mom. But Sally said she just lays in
bed and more or less stares into space, silently. Those of us who know
of Karen's faith can imagine she's probably in prayer or deep
conversation with God. I hope so. And I do pray that she is comforted.
This was a difficult phone call and difficult post, and I know it
reading it will be so for many of you...((((hugs)))...
Sally sends her love and gratitude and is not giving up on a miracle!
Keep praying for our sweet Karen.

Karen is one of the first ladies I met in chat and the first I met with advanced bc. Her courage and kindess are a guiding light to the rest of us. I will keep her in my prayers as always.

Karen is a very spiritual person and I am sure her sorrow is not for going home but leaving her loved ones. My heart aches for her son and mother. I will hold them up in prayer. Karen, continue to feast on his love.

Karen is a very special person. Just like Jasmine, she was one of the first persons I remember when I first found this site on the chat. She was always so positive, comforting. She gave me strength and hope.
Karen is loved by so many people. I pray she has comfort and peace. I pray for her family. I pray for her mom, as no mother should have to lose a child.
Peace and good will to all.

Sending up prayers and peaceful thoughts for Karen and for her sweet Mom. As Nicki said, "no mother should have to lose a child." May God hold them both in his loving arms and give them peace and comfort at this time.
Blessings,

I met Karen in the chat room and was honored to meet her 2 years ago in New Jersey for Flo's Beach party gathering.
Karen was so sweet and strong even then, and such a blessing to have as a friend.
My prayers are with her and her family for a miracle.
May God hold them in his heart.
